Indonesian digital payment platform LinkAja is a mobile wallet licensed by the Indonesian Shariah Committee. Currently, LinkAja has officially launched a wallet service that complies with Islamic law and cooperates with more than 1,500 merchants . It can be used in more than 200 traditional markets, more than 100 local modern retail stores, more than 60 gift shops and more than 1,000 halal cooking restaurants. Haryati Lawidjaja, CEO of LinkAja , said: “Local residents have been very welcoming of LinkAja ’s services and products, which cater to daily payment needs such as donations, charity , bill payments, public transportation, online shopping , etc. ” He added : “ Without the support of a certain segment of the population, our achievements this year would have been absolutely impossible to achieve. The services provided by LinkAja are beneficial to the expansion and strengthening of the Islamic digital economy, thereby accelerating the economic and financial development of Shariah law in Indonesia.” As of March 2021, more than 2.5 million users across Indonesia use the Shariah LinkAja service, an increase of more than 700%. Transaction volume has also increased more than 600 times since April last year . Haryati Lawidjaja said most people consider LinkAja’s service to be a safe, secure, legal and free service that facilitates daily transactions in compliance with Sharia law .
In addition, the Islamic ecosystem has also been widely developed . In the Islamic education ecosystem, Islamic services LinkAja cooperates with more than 60 boarding schools, more than 90 private Islamic schools, and more than 10 Islamic universities ; Islamic services cooperate with more than 1,600 mosques and more than 450 Amil Zakat institutions .
Currently, the Shariah services have reached 12 Islamic communities and organizations , joined 29 local banks, and can be used in 21 religious sites and 34 hospitals. LinkAja has now become the fifth largest e-wallet in Indonesia, completing the merger with the other four major wallets. Widjayanto Djaenudin, head of Syariah Group LinkAja Channel, said: "Several services such as qurban, infaq, top-up balance and zakat are currently widely available.
