The epidemic has stimulated Saudis' health awareness, and consumers are embracing "healthy beauty"

Many people are embracing healthier lifestyles and consumption choices, seeking natural products to improve their health and prevent disease, driving a growing demand for local, eco-friendly, natural and organic beauty products.

According to Mordor Intelligence’s recent Saudi Arabia beauty market forecast for 2021 to 2026, there will be an increasing demand for natural, organic, herbal and halal products, as well as innovative and eco-friendly packaging designs. Local Saudi companies in natural skincare and cosmetics are also taking notice.

Amani Daghriri, owner of Sun Pharmacy, said with emotion: "When I started working five years ago, there were less than 10 people in this field, but now there are countless. And with the spread of the epidemic, the demand for our products is increasing because people are becoming more and more aware of their health and they want a healthier lifestyle." It is reported that Sun Pharmacy is the first company in Saudi Arabia to produce all-organic daily skin and personal care products.

Daghriri added: “With crisis comes opportunity and the pandemic has undoubtedly helped Sun Pharmacy’s growth, especially its shift to e-commerce, which has allowed more people to learn about our brand and try our products.”

Sun Pharmacy 's products focus on daily skin and personal care products, such as toothpaste, deodorant and shampoo, etc. The age distribution of its target consumer groups is very wide, ranging from 20 to 60 years old.

Sun Pharmacy is also constantly trying to develop new products to enhance customer experience. Daghriri has full confidence in her products and hopes to promote them to more countries in the Middle East and North Africa to become a leading Saudi brand in the clean beauty industry.

Essence is another Saudi-based clean beauty brand that focuses on natural, handmade care products. It is an online store that started on Instagram and is run by Rhonda Howard and her daughter Lujain Malibari.

“We are passionate about using natural skincare and we want to share that with customers and people who share the same passion,” Malibari said of the brand.

She added: “More and more people are interested in natural treatments for the skin and want to understand what ingredients are in products.” Men are also becoming interested in this area, and Essence is planning to launch a product line for men.
