In addition, sales of summer fruits and swimsuits, which are popular in summer, also increased by 9.2% and 100% compared with the same period last year .

 

The reason for this sales phenomenon is the abnormally high temperatures that occurred in many parts of South Korea last month . Coupled with the continued early summer weather, the number of consumers who want to prepare summer products in advance has increased .

 

According to the Meteorological Bureau, the average temperature in Seoul in March was 9 °C , and the average maximum temperature was 14.8 °C , the highest temperature since 1904. The average temperature in South Korea in March was 8.9°C, also the hottest temperature in the past. On the 26th of last month , the highest temperature in Seoul reached 20.6 °C .

 

Moreover, data from the Korea Meteorological Administration's " 21st Summer Climate Outlook" shows that due to the influence of high pressure in the North Pacific this summer, South Korea's hot summer temperatures are expected to exceed the average annual level in previous years, so some predict that the purchase of air conditioners this summer will increase significantly.

 

In addition, last summer's longest rainy season in history and not- so- hot summer caused many customers who were trying to buy air conditioners to postpone their purchases . As a result, the number of customers preparing to buy air conditioners in advance increased before the demand for air conditioners gathered this summer.

 

And thanks to the recent recovery in Korean consumer sentiment, the Korean fashion industry is also recovering little by little.

 

In view of this situation, many Korean TV shopping companies launched new summer clothing made of cool and breathable linen one to two weeks earlier than in previous years . Large supermarkets also launched summer home appliance discounts in advance.
