Online sales become popular, the most innovative companies in the United States are revealed

As e-commerce continues to grow, many retailers are creating seamless online shopping experiences and are changing the landscape of U.S. retail.

 

Nike, for example, has engaged with customers digitally during the pandemic through free training videos on YouTube and its Training Club app . Similarly, Ulta Beauty has expanded its virtual try-on experience, GLAMlab, on its app , adding skin analysis tools and AI-powered try-ons.

 

Canada Goose is also giving shoppers a major twist : Its Cold Room lets customers test out coats in a room where temperatures drop to -27 degrees Fahrenheit.

 

Startup Italic also ranked high on RIS’s annual “Hot Retail Startups” list, and made the Fast Company ranking primarily for launching a membership model that allows members to purchase merchandise for a $120 annual fee.

 

It takes direct-to-consumer shopping to a new level and promises to cut out middlemen who shoulder the cost. Members can shop for luxury goods on its e-commerce site, including apparel , footwear , accessories and homewares, with more than 800 items made in the same factories as brands such as Giorgio Armani, Prada and Chanel.

 

The list of the top 10 most innovative retail companies also spotlighted platforms for secondhand clothing and accessories . Depop, a resale marketplace that feels like a social network, and Rebag, which buys handbags and accessories directly from sellers and owns all the inventory it sells, both made the cut this year.

 

The top 10 companies were selected based on industry rankings of organizations that have demonstrated creative problem-solving and fearlessness during the crisis . Shopify ranked first in the retail rankings and third in the entire 50 list. They provided a lifeline to small stores by helping them to operate online overnight. The specific rankings are as follows:

7. ITALIC: For democratizing luxury craftsmanship .

8. CAREWELL: For building Amazon for home health products .

9. REBAG: For making the Kelley Blue Book for luxury handbags .

10. CANADA GOOSE: For reinventing a storefront as a museum .
