According to foreign media reports, CoolBlue , the second largest e-commerce company in the Netherlands , released its 2020 financial report in mid-February . The report showed that CoolBlue 's revenue in 2020 reached 2 billion euros, of which EBITDA was 114 million euros, an increase of 66 million euros over last year .

 

Founded in 1999, CoolBlue has 14 physical stores in the Netherlands and Germany . It is one of Amazon's stronger competitors in the Netherlands, selling 10 categories of products online , covering images, audio , mobile phones , computers, tablets and household items. It is worth mentioning that the company provides its own delivery and installation services.

 

Due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, CoolBlue e-commerce company launched a series of home office products in 2020 , which was very popular and provided a comfortable home office environment for more than 48,000 employees in Belgium and the Netherlands .

 

According to the company's financial report, CoolBlue's turnover reached 1.5 billion euros in 2019. During the 2020 epidemic , the company's turnover remained unchanged, achieving a turnover of 2 billion euros .

 

Since 2020 , the company has also been operating in Germany , setting up its own stores, distribution network, bicycle transport network, and providing installation services in Düsseldorf . In order to quickly advance its business, CoolBlue has also hired 40 German- speaking couriers to complete the " last mile " of delivery .

 

CoolBlue mentions that making customers happy is their motto . That’s why there’s no shipping charge for all orders, and customers are sent a text message as soon as their order is packed. And the company mentions on its LinkedIn page that they answer all questions on social media within 30 minutes .

 

To expand its business, CoolBlue e-commerce company also entered the clean energy field in 2020 , selling and installing charging stations. And in January 2021 , it began selling and supplying electricity and natural gas. It is worth noting that the company acquired the energy company ServiceHouse.

 

CoolBlue co-founder Pieter Zwart said the e-commerce company plans to open new stores and build warehouses in 2021 , and will continue to build charging stations, solar panels and advance the CoolBlue energy business .
