Snowstorm hits western U.S., more than 800 flights canceled

Last week, the United States began distributing $1.9 trillion in relief funds, with some people receiving $1,400 as early as March 13, and most others will receive payments this week. Soon, some sellers found that orders were picking up and there was a trend of explosive orders. This timely rain finally came.

Although sales are improving, the West Coast of the United States has been hit by another severe snowstorm recently, roads have been blocked, more than 800 local flights have been canceled, and logistics timeliness will be delayed.

1,400 USD received, sellers start to receive orders

U.S. President Joe Biden signed the American Rescue Plan last Thursday . A Treasury official said on Friday that processing of the first batch of stimulus payments began on Friday and will be rolled out "in the coming weeks."

The first batch of $1,400 stimulus payments hit Americans' bank accounts over the weekend, with the White House saying some people may see payments as early as the weekend (March 13-14), and most people may see payments within the following week.

(Part of the funds have been received)

Some users posted on social media that they already had the third round of relief funds waiting to be paid in their bank accounts.

A netizen from a family of four said that it was great to get $5,600 in one go . A single mother, Davis, checked her bank account and found that two stimulus payments of $1,400 had been transferred into her account, one for her and the other for her son: "I am very happy. I didn't expect to receive it so soon." Another mother, Terry, said that she would use the extra funds to buy daily necessities and school supplies for her four children. Some people also use the money to pay off debts or medical bills.

Under the long-term epidemic, American residents are looking forward to this relief money, and domestic sellers have similar feelings. Due to the poor economic situation in the United States, many sellers have reported a decline in orders, a painful advertising budget, and high ACOS since February, and they hope that the US money distribution plan can save the declining conversion rate and orders.

"Since I started working for Amazon, I've paid special attention to the timing of the US money distribution." This is not without reason. After the US$1,400 began to arrive in the accounts of the American people, sellers reported that "sales have picked up a bit", and some sellers posted screenshots of sales of nearly 2,200 orders per day, saying that "some are busy". As more relief funds arrive, daily necessities are bound to usher in a wave of booms.

More than 800 flights canceled as snowstorm hits western U.S.

Hundreds of flights have been canceled as a dangerous winter storm hit the western United States.

The winter storm battered swathes of the U.S. Rocky Mountains and western plains, forcing Denver to cancel hundreds of flights and close major highways.

Denver International Airport canceled more than 800 flights yesterday, following hundreds of cancellations last Saturday .

Denver airport officials said water levels at the airport were close to a foot as of 6:30 a.m. Sunday , with total water levels expected to range from 15.5 inches to 27 inches.

The National Weather Service said parts of the region could see 2 to 3 feet (0.6 to 0.9 meters) of snow , with blizzard warnings in place for eastern Wyoming, western Nebraska and southwestern South Dakota because of strong winds.

More than 30,000 customers were without power in Colorado, according to an outage tracker maintained by utility Xcel Energy . Interstate 25 was closed in both the north and south directions from northern Colorado into Wyoming, while Interstate 80 was also closed eastbound and westbound through much of Wyoming.

"Stay home. You will be trapped!" the National Weather Service in Cheyenne, Wyoming, warned on Twitter, where more than a foot of snow has fallen since Saturday.

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis activated the National Guard ahead of the storm to assist with any search and rescue incidents.

Americans are eager to take off their masks, and riots continue

Snowstorms may trap Americans at home, but the epidemic will not. They even take off their masks and go out.

According to a financial magazine report, in March, the COVID-19 outbreak in the United States had been going on for a full year, and all parties were encouraging people to get vaccinated to help the United States control the epidemic as soon as possible. But just when the epidemic began to decline due to large-scale vaccination, some states in the United States have begun to promote the policy of removing masks.

Texas has been fully open since 12 a.m. on March 10, with all stores reopening and the state no longer requiring people to wear masks.

Other states are following Texas' decision, and currently at least 15 states, including Alaska, Tennessee and Mississippi, have ended their mandatory mask-wearing requirements.

Although the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States has warned the public that COVID-19 still exists and that people may be infected or spread the deadly virus if masks are not mandatory, some people are not buying it. This wave of behavior is really confusing!

Even more confusing is the mask burning celebration. In Texas, some businesses couldn't wait to open, and since March 9, they began to collect discarded masks in a high-profile manner, planning to burn them at midnight to celebrate taking off the masks.

A bar in Houston held a "no-mask" party on March 10, causing panic among nearby businesses.

Because of the issue of wearing masks, businesses and the public have been in constant conflict. A policeman in New Orleans was shot and killed for asking a spectator of a basketball game to wear a mask; a guest at a bar in Texas picked up a bottle and attacked the waiter's head when he refused to wear a mask ...

In addition to the conflicts caused by wearing masks, thousands of people in the United States have taken to the streets to participate in protests in recent days.

On March 13 local time , thousands of people took to the streets in the United States to protest to commemorate the first anniversary of the shooting of African-American nurse Breonna Taylor by police.

A video on social media showed two demonstrators attacking a police car and smashing its hood at a protest site in Los Angeles . The police car first moved slowly, then suddenly accelerated as the two continued to smash and destroy things, causing one demonstrator to be thrown off the front of the car and the other to be "run over".

As the mask-removing policy is implemented in some states and new demonstrations break out, a new wave of epidemic peaks may follow. The epidemic will undoubtedly affect the speed of the U.S. economic recovery.

The third wave of the epidemic hits Germany

Outside the United States, the epidemic in Europe is about to rebound.

Yesterday, the number of newly confirmed COVID-19 cases in Germany exceeded 10,000 for the fourth consecutive day . In response, German epidemiologist Lauterbach called on severely affected areas to implement an "emergency brake" and cancel the current small-scale "unblocking" measures.

Lauterbach said that the third wave of the epidemic had begun to sweep Germany two weeks ago. In order to control the epidemic and avoid overloading of medical institutions, he suggested that the following measures should be taken at present:

First, any region where the average number of confirmed cases per 100,000 people in seven days exceeds 100 should stop the implemented "unblocking" measures; second, local vaccination centers should actively promote the first dose of the vaccine and strictly vaccinate in order of priority groups; finally, German states are called upon to close primary and secondary schools until after the Easter holidays.
