Alpha Rock Capital is a digital investment firm focused on exploring, acquiring, operating and growing FBA businesses, providing a strong corporate structure while also gaining access to product sourcing opportunities and talent at competitive market prices. Amazon sellers have the opportunity to have Amazon store their goods themselves and ship them to customers when they are sold, in exchange for a fee. This is called Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA). Whenever a seller decides to sell their business, Alpha Rock Capital comes into play, acquiring them and leveraging expertise to operate them and further increase their profitability and value.

How to choose FBA

Before purchasing any business, we carefully research all available options on the market we most trust. We run them through a vetting process based on a variety of factors, such as:

  • What category does the item sold belong to?
  • Does the seller own a trademark?
  • Is the business sold outside of the United States?
  • How many different products do they sell?
  • How many suppliers do they deal with?
  • How good are business listings on Amazon?
  • Can the cost of goods be reduced?
  • How stable are the returns?
  • What is the price of the product in terms of the SDE multiple and the inventory required?

After we rate each business, we select the one we like best and contact the seller to learn more about the business and potentially make an offer.

How to run FBA

We have an in-house team that is dedicated to running the FBA business. It is currently overseen by our CEO David Abusiewiez and consists of our Supply Chain Manager Benoit Labat, our two Senior Operations Assistants Paula Maristela and RJ Yu, and four Operations Assistants. We also have a creative team that helps with branding and listings.

How to Improve FBA

  • Suppliers. We source alternatives to existing suppliers and negotiate discounts for higher order volumes.
  • Product variations. If we see potential in product variations that can convert into sales, we look through them.
  • Logistics. We reduce logistics costs by finding more efficient transportation methods.
  • Inventory. We can also leverage our scale by renting warehouses, rather than keeping all of our inventory in Amazon warehouses.
  • Listing Improvements: Keywords, descriptions, and images are optimized to increase search traffic and better attract customers.
  • Pay Per Click. We optimize the use of PPC options within Amazon to increase exposure and conversions.
  • Market expansion. If products are only sold on Amazon US but have potential overseas, we can bring them to other Amazon marketplaces.
