Amazon said that overall, Prime members purchased more than 250 million items worldwide during Prime Day 2021, with best-selling categories including tools, beauty, nutrition, baby care, Amazon devices, electronics, apparel and home goods.

 

From July onwards, goods without IOSS will be detained by customs

 

Starting from July 1st, every package sent to Europe by sellers without IOSS independent website will be detained by customs.

 

The IOSS VAT identification number can be used for customs declarations of imported goods. If you choose to use this import plan, the goods can circulate freely in the EU without paying import VAT. Starting from July 1, 2021, 100% of cross-border e-commerce sellers in the EU will have to pay VAT like imported goods, so the EU digital IOSS supporting system is officially launched.

Amazon reportedly experienced outages on multiple sites

 

On June 24, the outage monitoring website Downdetector said that late Wednesday, a large number of users experienced outages on Amazon's platforms such as Alexa and Prime Video. Data from Downdetector showed that more than 4,000 users reported problems with Amazon's online store website, more than 1,000 users reported problems with Prime Video, and 300 users reported problems with Alexa. The cause of the user outage is currently unclear, and Amazon did not immediately respond to a request for comment. It is reported that earlier this month, world-renowned websites such as Amazon, Google, and Twitter experienced an outage that lasted nearly an hour. The outage was related to Fastly, the cloud service provider that supports these websites.
