The top 10 home furnishing sales platforms in the United States are revealed, sharing a market worth $800 billion

In 2020, the popularity of home furnishing categories in the United States pushed the penetration rate of its home furnishing e-commerce industry to 35%, and this popularity continued into 2021. According to data from the U.S. Census Bureau, in January of this year, online sales of home furnishings and furniture in the United States continued to grow strongly, up 12% month-on-month and 11.7% year-on-year.

An organization has compiled the top ten e-commerce platforms for home furnishing sales that exploded in 2020. The first place is still the well-known Amazon , which firmly holds the throne of the sales leader in the home furnishing industry.

The second place is Wayfair , the largest home furnishing e-commerce platform in the United States . It can be said that it stole the limelight in 2020. Relevant data shows that its total net revenue in 2020 was US$14.1 billion, a year-on-year increase of 55.0%, of which the net revenue in the United States still accounted for the largest share, at US$11.9 billion. It is worth noting that its net profit reached US$185 million.

The third place is Wal-Mart , which is known as the largest super retail department store . It seems that the strength of the sellers in Wal-Mart should not be underestimated. The fourth place is the American e-commerce platform Target, which is another retail department store in the United States and its status is second only to Wal-Mart.

Ranked fifth is Overstock, an American online shopping platform famous for flash sales. Overstock mainly sells home furnishings at discounts. Now, Overstock's sales categories have also expanded to 3C and clothing, and the platform's business model has gradually become more boutique. It is worth noting that the platform mainly targets female users, and most of the income is high-income earners. Relevant data shows that its total net revenue in 2020 was US$2.5 billion, a year-on-year increase of 75%.

Pottery Barn ranks sixth , an American high-end home furnishing chain store that mainly sells bathtubs and outdoor furniture products. IKEA ranks seventh , a multinational home furnishing retail company based in Sweden. It has now become the world's largest furniture retail company, mainly selling furniture, accessories, bathroom and kitchen supplies, etc.

The eighth place is Bed Bath & Beyond , a furniture chain in North America. The ninth place is West Elm , a furniture company in the United States , and the tenth place is Restoration Hardware , a high-end home furnishing company in the United States . Since most of the companies ranked lower are traditional home furnishing companies in the United States, their detailed sales data is not available yet.
