Grab and Lazada team up to make goods delivery more environmentally friendly

Grab , a popular Southeast Asian app , has announced a partnership with Southeast Asian e-commerce giant Lazada to promote the delivery of goods in an environmentally friendly way . Grab will use motorcycles from the GrabWheels fleet to deliver packages to Lazada consumers in the Jabodetabek area.


The collaboration is part of Grab and Lazada’s #LangkahHijau initiative . Lazada is one of Asia’s leading e-commerce sites with an extensive logistics network , and Lazada Logistics contributes to supporting a sustainable electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia .


It is reported that Lazada has partnered with Grab to jointly build an electric vehicle fleet, which has been in use since February. With this electric vehicle fleet , Lazada is able to expand Jabodetabek's logistics scope using environmentally friendly delivery methods .


This collaboration reflects Grab and Lazada’s commitment to providing more environmentally friendly delivery services to consumers in Indonesia.


Ahmad Yani, director-general of land transportation at the Ministry of Transport, said: “The collaboration between Grab and Lazada is in line with the direction of SPKLU and SPBKLU launched some time ago, which will accelerate the government’s efforts to build an electric vehicle ecosystem . We hope that through this collaboration, we can inspire other e-commerce platforms to join the ranks.


Philippe Auberger, Chief Logistics Officer of Lazada Indonesia , said: “We are delighted to be working with Grab on this initiative . It is our commitment to developing a sustainable and environmentally friendly e-commerce ecosystem, which is reflected in reducing carbon emissions during the delivery of parcels. Partnering with Grab also confirms our commitment to providing quality logistics solutions to businesses, especially SMEs in Indonesia.”

The Lazada platform has become part of the daily lives of consumers in the region and is expected to serve 300 million users by 2030 .


Lazada has won several awards so far and pledged to empower local businesses in Indonesia by building an e-commerce ecosystem to drive national economic growth .
