Amazon seller arrested for fake ID for video verification

Amazon seller arrested for fake ID for video verification

The sudden Amazon video certification made a lot of sellers panic. Sellers who had made appointments were waiting for the "death countdown" to come. Some "smart people" forged and violated the rules to carry out batch certification, but were taken away by the police.

In addition, there is news that worries sellers: Amazon will no longer provide FBA order cancellation services; without any warning, the Canadian site collapsed...

Seller arrested for bulk forging certificates for video verification

Recently, there have been new changes in registering accounts on Amazon’s US site. There are currently three verification methods to choose from, with video verification being the first one.

In view of this, some sellers have carried out unconventional operations. Industry insiders said that a friend made false certificates to submit video verification and registered accounts in batches. After being caught, the relevant department called the police, and the police came and arrested the person. This operation may have risen to the level of illegality, reminding sellers not to mess around.

In the past two years, some people have been arrested by the police for violating regulations. Some were arrested for following the sales rules and not shipping, some were arrested for buying and selling accounts, and some were even arrested for deleting negative reviews. One seller said that a service provider who sold accounts disappeared during a chat, and later said that he was in jail and was detained for a while before being released. Another seller said that a tax agency near his home arrested all six people for reselling information .

Whether you are a seller or a service provider, there are risks in violating regulations and reselling information. Think before you do it, and don't get arrested for running an e-commerce business.

For some service providers, if they insist on giving guarantees that they cannot do, it is just a pretense and may end up hurting others and themselves. As for this video certification, some service providers have clearly stated that they will no longer accept orders, while others are still promoting a 100% guarantee of passing and quoting a price of 55,000.

The 100% guarantee of approval has caused many people to question: Is this a way to replace someone's head? The service providers who advertise a 100% guarantee of approval generally charge a high fee, and some even charge 40% of the funds in the store's account.

Some sellers have personal experience that when conducting video authentication, after the call is made, Amazon customer service will first confirm your documents. If they are unclear, they will ask you to upload the latest ones. This leaves counterfeiters with basically no room to survive.

Therefore, experienced sellers have concluded that the service providers they frequently cooperate with are not posting video verification advertisements. Instead, some small businesses, or businesses that have no cooperation at all, are promoting them extensively. Everyone must carefully identify them to avoid paying the IQ tax.

Regarding the recent incident, one seller said that he did not want to break the law and just waited for the video verification. Currently, many sellers have similar experiences, and everyone jokingly said: "It has entered the countdown to death."

Many sellers who missed the appointment time did not even receive the notification email from Amazon and missed the verification. Some people speculated that the customer service staff may be too busy recently and they may be dealing with those who forged certificates in bulk for video verification.

Video verification has caused a lot of sellers to worry, but there are other problems on Amazon. Yesterday, many sellers reported that the Canadian site system crashed.

The Canadian site crashed, affecting a large number of sellers

Yesterday afternoon, sellers at the Canadian site discovered system anomalies. One seller said that all of his products were malfunctioning, and when he clicked on the page, various dogs appeared. Many other sellers also reported that the Canadian site system had crashed.

Amazon system failures are not uncommon. The seller asked the customer service about this and they said that there was no error in the seller's products. This is a system problem that many sellers have encountered. Large-scale problems will be reported to the technical team and wait for repair. However, the recovery time cannot be determined, and the seller can check the follow-up through the front-end status.

As of 5:00 pm yesterday, the Canadian site bug was fixed and the system returned to normal, and the sellers were relieved. However, some sellers noticed that when there was a problem with the site access, the ads were still displayed normally, which shows that Amazon's ads are currently an independent system; some sellers speculated that perhaps the ad traffic was not counted in the daily natural traffic, which provides some new ideas for daily operations.

Amazon's new policy: Starting March 2, FBA order cancellation service will no longer be provided

In business, discounts are a common promotional method used by sellers, and there are many examples of losses caused by incorrect discount settings: products are sold out for free because of incorrect discount settings; discounts are calculated incorrectly, such as setting a 20% discount to 80%, and selling products at a loss of 20% off, resulting in a direct explosion of orders and a skyrocketing ranking, and the seller loses 200,000 yuan a day...

When this happens, the seller's first reaction is to contact customer service, explain the situation and request to cancel as many orders as possible. Once all orders are shipped out, the seller will regret it. But now this trick doesn't work anymore.

According to the latest feedback from a seller, due to an error in the discount setting, he urgently asked Amazon to help cancel the order, but received the following reply:

“Thank you for contacting Amazon’s Premium Selling Partner Support Team. We tried to contact you by phone and answer the questions in your email. Since we were unable to communicate with you directly, we are now answering your questions by email.

According to Amazon's latest policy, we will no longer provide FBA order cancellation services from March 2, and the Amazon Sales Partner Support Team and PSS Team will no longer assist you in canceling Amazon logistics orders..."

This reply made the sellers feel disappointed, as it was difficult to cancel the unexpected orders. This reminded many sellers to double-check before setting discounts to avoid high losses caused by discount errors.

Meiya's In-Stock Head Start feature attracts attention

Amazon supports new products with traffic. A seller gave a vivid example: the traffic of new product A on the second day after it was put on the shelves was 70+, and the traffic of new product B on the second day after it was put on the shelves was 100+, while the traffic of normal and good products was only 200+ or 300, and it took a long time to get it. The platform's traffic tilt towards new products is obvious. Now, a function of Amazon has attracted the attention of many sellers because it is beneficial to the sales and stocking of new products.

A seller said that the FBA program contains links to new products. This service is mainly used when the product is out of stock. If the FBA program is established, clicking on the delivery button will directly display the pre-sale status of the out-of-stock product page. However, this is not what the seller wants: "My product's pre-sale period is directly displayed as one month later. Isn't this a scam?"

Other sellers have made unexpected discoveries about this business: after joining In-Stock Head Start, create a new link, the maximum limit is 200pcs, then create a new shipment and click the "shipped" button. If the front desk changes to pre-sale status, then check "Inventory-Inventory Planning-Replenishment Inventory", the shipping limit has become 3000pcs. "I tried 2 pet links myself and they were the same, but I'm not sure if it's suitable for all categories."
