eBay's UK classifieds business accounted for less than 10% of its consolidated revenues in 2019, while Adevinta's UK operations accounted for just 1% of its consolidated revenues. On a consolidated basis, the companies' UK operations accounted for less than 5% of total consolidated revenues.

AliExpress announced that it will upgrade the logistics capacity of the "Cainiao Special Cargo Line-Standard" from China to Russia. Shopee, Lazada sign memorandum of understanding with Philippine companies to combat online counterfeit products

 

On March 1, at an online event held in partnership with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL), Lazada, Shopee and brands signed a memorandum of understanding to combat counterfeit and pirated products sold online.

 

Brands and industry groups that signed the partnership include Unilever Philippines, GlaxoSmithKline Philippines, Globe Telecom, Castrol Ltd., the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, Consumer Healthcare of the Philippines, and Retailers Association of the Philippines, among others.

 

The memorandum of understanding outlines a code of conduct for addressing the sale of counterfeit and pirated goods online, with the platform promising that its process for verifying complaints will not be "unreasonably or unduly delayed" and that ads, posts or products will be removed in a timely manner. When brand owners discover that their intellectual property rights have been infringed, they will be able to enter a "notice and takedown" procedure.

 

The number of cross-border e-commerce parcels exported through the Alashankou Port exceeded 7 million in January and February

 

On March 3, the E-Commerce News learned that in the first two months of this year, the number of cross-border e-commerce parcels exported through the Alashankou Port exceeded 7 million, reaching 7.0347 million pieces, with a value of US$15.0045 million.

 

It is reported that since the Alashankou Port first started cross-border e-commerce business in January 2020, the number of parcels has shown explosive growth, with an average daily export of more than 110,000 parcels. Toys, furniture, clothing, daily necessities and other commodities from Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Guangdong and other places are transported to the Alashankou Port by road and exported to European countries such as Belgium and Germany by the China-Europe Express.

 

According to Gao Bin, chief of the third inspection section of Alashankou Customs, the Alashankou Port has gradually developed into a cross-border e-commerce distribution center. The world's four major e-commerce platforms, Alibaba and Amazon, all use the road-rail combined transport mode to ship goods from 506,000 cross-border e-commerce companies in China .

 

At 11:00 on January 22 this year , 51,300 cross-border e-commerce export products from Hangzhou were shipped out of Xinjiang Alashankou Station on the China-Europe Express, marking that the number of cross-border e-commerce business packages at the Alashankou Port exceeded 40 million in one year, reaching 40.7518 million pieces.
