Panic! The US FDA is frantically detaining lighting products imported from China?

Last night, the editor noticed that an urgent notice was spread in the circle of friends, causing an uproar. The specific content of the notice was as follows

Urgent Notice:

All companies please take note, please stop using "LED Light", "Flashlight" or any product name with the word "Light" immediately . The US FDA is now frantically detaining all lighting products imported from China. Please be aware of this, thank you!!!!!!

At present, the news has attracted the attention of many sellers. The editor also interviewed several freight forwarders, and the responses from them were different:

A freight forwarder said that they received relevant feedback yesterday and the product names of lighting products need to be changed;

Some freight forwarders also said that they had verified it and the news was pure rumor, and it was estimated that some customers' goods were detained;

Another freight forwarder said that the FDA has indeed been inspecting lighting products recently , and both full containers and bulk goods on hand have been inspected, but there has been no seizure of goods.

More freight forwarders said they had not received any clear notification and were currently trying to understand the news, but could not confirm its authenticity.

The authenticity of the news is not clear for now. As the news spreads, sellers start to panic. One seller said that he has recently prepared a lot of related products and is now trying to verify the authenticity of the news.

In fact, regardless of whether the news is true or not, sellers of related products should take it seriously. According to a freight forwarder, three batches of LED products declared for export before the New Year were inspected, but they were released after providing the information.

Therefore, sellers of related products may wish to prepare complete information in advance, such as photos of all orientations of lighting items, product introduction stickers on the packaging of the items, etc., in case of emergency .

The United States is the largest importer of lighting fixtures , according to Statista. In 2018, the United States imported about $12.87 billion in lighting fixtures and accessories from the rest of the world.

There are also data showing that China is one of the largest exporters of LED lights , and the United States is China's largest export market . In 2018, China 's LED exports to the United States were worth $4.065 billion, accounting for 27.22% of China's LED export market.

There are quite a few sellers of lighting products in the US market. Judging from the feedback from freight forwarders, the FDA has indeed been inspecting lighting products imported from China recently , so sellers should pay more attention.
