Blizzard in the United States continues to affect logistics and transportation, eBay updates seller protection

Recently, eBay updated the seller protection measures previously issued in response to shipping delays caused by the blizzard in Texas, USA, and stated that when buyers check the tracking information, it will show a delayed purchase message.

eBay said in the post that because winter weather conditions are still affecting shipping routes in parts of the United States, eBay is expanding seller protection to provide sellers with more comprehensive protection. If sellers have business dealings with affected areas, they are likely to experience delays due to severe local weather conditions, so it is recommended that sellers communicate well during the transaction process.

If your business is impacted, eBay will automatically protect your performance, including:

The rate of late shipments, valid tracking upload rate, defects caused by sellers canceling transactions, and "Item not received" cases will not affect the seller's seller performance if the seller uploads the tracking information and performs a physical scan before the buyer opens a case.

Since the end of January, severe cold weather has swept across southern Canada, the United States and Mexico. Heavy snow and low temperatures have not only caused supermarkets to close, schools to suspend classes and refineries to stop working, but also caused serious traffic disruptions, paralyzed the power grid, and even caused at least 47 deaths in the United States.

Due to the road closures caused by the snowstorm in the United States, transportation and logistics have been affected. eBay has updated its seller protection policy, while Amazon has temporarily closed some facilities in eight states including Texas. More than 70 FBA warehouses have been closed, and it is expected that receiving goods will not resume until the end of February.

Foreign media said that most of the cargo transportation in the United States has come to a standstill. The geographical scope, duration and impact of the storm on all modes of freight are extraordinary. Ocean ports continue to be congested, land transportation is blocked, and railways are suspended. On February 18, local time , the three major express delivery companies in the United States, the United States Postal Service (USPS), FedEx (FedEx), and United Parcel Service (UPS) all issued service warnings on their official websites due to blizzard weather.

According to the forecast of the National Weather Service of the United States, the next round of snowstorm is about to hit, and will successively affect many states in the southern, Midwestern and northeastern United States in the next two days. This natural disaster is not over yet, and sellers must also prepare in advance.
