Ensogo is headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand. It provides discounted products to more than 600 million users in Southeast Asia. It is a B2C platform for special sales, positioned as a social e-commerce platform, and is known as the "Vipshop of Southeast Asia". It has currently closed all its Southeast Asian operations (including Hong Kong).
Development History - Ensogo was founded in Thailand in 2009 and expanded its operations to the Philippines in 2010 and then to Indonesia under the name DealKeren. -In June 2011, Ensogo was acquired by LivingSocial. The acquisition expanded Ensogo's business to Thailand, the Philippines, and Indonesia. - On June 21, 2016, Ensogo announced that it would close all Southeast Asian operations (including Hong Kong), and its CEO Kris Marszalek had resigned; it also asked the ASX to suspend stock trading. The unprecedented shutdown affected business in several countries; Singapore workers found the office closed, Hong Kong sellers asked the police to investigate fraud, and some stores in Thailand refused to accept transactions purchased by consumers, but the Consumer Protection Commission is expected to summon Ensogo executives to deal with remediation issues. |
