Recently, the authorities issued an ultimatum that the funds of accounts that have not completed verification before July 7 will be frozen.
According to the latest announcement released by Amazon, since the Consumer Notification Act will officially take effect on June 27, 2023, Amazon will freeze the account funds for those sellers who have not completed verification before July 7. In the announcement, Amazon said that it has been contacting third-party sellers on the platform over the past few months, asking them to provide business information and complete additional verification checks to ensure that the account complies with relevant laws.
Additionally, Amazon told sellers that once the information they provided is fully verified, the "Account Deactivation Warning" banner associated with the Consumer Notification Act will be removed from their Account Health page.
It is understood that this banner has touched the pain points of many sellers. Many sellers have reported that the banner did not disappear even after the account verification was completed. It is speculated that there is probably a bug in the platform.
What makes sellers even more frustrated is that this round of verification may not be the last one. Amazon said that if there are any changes to the seller's account in the future, the account information may need to be re-verified.
And according to platform policies, sellers are officially required to update and verify store account information at least once a year.
Under this announcement, sellers have started to complain, believing that this is Amazon's unfair terms and does not consider the sellers' perspective at all.
One seller left a message saying, "I have submitted the information, but if the platform has not completed the review after ten days, whose fault is it?" Some sellers also said that they submitted their information more than ten days ago, but their accounts are still in an unreviewed status. They have not received any emails telling them what to do next, and they have not received any useful information by writing to seller support.
From what we know so far, there are still many sellers who have not completed account verification, and the reasons are varied. One is that the time for account verification is too short, and some sellers do not have enough time to prepare the information.
In addition, Amazon’s verification system has been unstable recently. Many sellers said that they submitted multiple verifications but all were invalid, which further prolonged the verification cycle.
In response to this issue, Amazon said: “We have made many improvements to our verification process based on feedback. We are very grateful for the help provided by sellers. Amazon Account Verification Funds Freeze |
