The Indian Ministry of Communications issued the Indian Telegraph (Amendment) Rules, which stipulate that any telecommunications equipment must undergo mandatory testing and certification (MTCTE) before being sold or imported into India. TEC certification related time On September 5, 2017, the Indian Ministry of Communications issued the Indian Telegraph (Amendment) Rules, which stipulates that any telecommunications equipment must undergo mandatory testing and certification (MTCTE) before being sold or imported into India. It was implemented on October 1, 2018, requiring testing in a laboratory approved by TEC and obtaining a test report based on Essential Requirements (ER), and the certificate is issued by TEC. On September 27, 2018, the Indian Ministry of Communications issued an official document to delay the mandatory implementation of MTCTE (TEC certification), which was postponed to January 1, 2019 and April 1, 2019. Since some test items are temporarily not capable of being tested by Indian laboratories, TEC will accept test reports from internationally recognized laboratories before March 1, 2019. On March 12, 2019, the Telecommunications Engineering Center of India issued an official document to postpone the implementation of TEC mandatory certification for all telecommunications equipment to August 1, 2019. In other words, from August 1, 2019, all communication products produced, imported, distributed or sold in the Indian market must pass TEC mandatory certification.
