What is Trustpilot? Trustpilot Review, Features

Founded in 2007, Trustpilot is a global consumer review website that focuses on sharing and reviewing online e-commerce shopping experiences.

About Trustpilot

  • Founded in 2007 with a vision to create an independent currency of trust, Trustpilot is a digital platform that brings businesses and consumers together to foster trust and inspire collaboration. Trustpilot is free to use, open to everyone and built on a foundation of transparency.

  • Trustpilot hosts reviews to help consumers shop with confidence and provides rich insights to help businesses improve the experience they offer. The more consumers use Trustpilot's platform and share their own opinions, the richer insights Trustpilot provides businesses and the more opportunities they have to earn the trust of consumers around the world.

  • Trustpilot is headquartered in Copenhagen, with offices in London, New York, Denver, Vilnius, Berlin, Melbourne, Edinburgh, Milan and Amsterdam.

How Trustpilot works

Reviews on Trustpilot are written by consumers from all over the world, and anyone who has made a purchase or service experience in the past 12 months can write a review for free, as long as they have a Trustpilot user account, follow Trustpilot's reviewer guidelines, and have no conflicts of interest with the business they are reviewing. User accounts must be connected to an email address so that Trustpilot can contact the user regarding account and service-related issues.

All reviews about a business are displayed on their profile page. Here, consumers can read and write reviews, and find other relevant information about the business, such as the overall TrustScore and star rating.

A Trust Pilot audit can be started in two ways:

  1. Consumers: Consumers who have had experience with a business can create a Trustpilot account and write an unsolicited review. Trustpilot calls this an “organic review.”

  2. Businesses: Businesses can use Trustpilot’s invitation method to ask customers to leave reviews for free. Businesses should ensure that the way they invite customer reviews is free of bias and does not allow them to offer any form of payment or incentive.

Service Advantages

1. Optional user country language
You can specify the user's country, including the United Kingdom, the United States, France, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Sweden, Australia, Spain, Canada, Poland, Russia, Brazil, Ireland, New Zealand, Norway, Japan and other countries.

2. Customizable review content
E-commerce sellers can publish reviews in the language they like, and try to make the content authentic and natural, including English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Spanish, Chinese and other languages.

3. Safe and stable
Currently, Trustpilot reviews are safe and stable, and merchants and sellers can buy with confidence without causing their stores to be closed or causing TP official shopping risk warnings to appear.

4. Only provide positive reviews
Do not provide offensive negative reviews, and encourage merchants to compete positively in a benign manner. If some marketing companies are willing to provide negative review services, it means that they can also sell negative reviews to the user 's competitors, and in turn attack the user 's store.
