Regarding after-sales service, we will ensure that the operation ends on January 15, 2025, and we will continue to provide you with necessary support before then. For products purchased by users before the end of the operation, we will provide you with corresponding after-sales service in accordance with the existing service commitment. However, once the brand operation ends, we will no longer be able to provide after-sales service, including but not limited to product repairs, returns and exchanges, etc. "Roimi thanked everyone for their 10 years of companionship at the end of the notice.
The staff who are still working in the company also said that due to the impact of the overall environment and the lack of investment, the suspension of operations was not sudden. All business of the company has been stopped. There are still two or three employees, and their salaries are still being paid normally. It is a technology company facing the global market and focusing on the research and development of high-end cleaning appliances such as cordless vacuum cleaners and sweeping robots.
ROIDMI is positioned to serve global consumers and is sold in 65 countries around the world, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, France, Japan, South Korea, etc., covering tens of thousands of offline electrical appliance retail stores. It has multiple sales channels overseas, including brand independent websites, Amazon, Walmart, etc.
Currently, the Roidmi handheld cordless vacuum cleaner is no longer for sale on Amazon, and its official overseas social media account ceased operations as early as 2023, but some links are still available for sale on independent sites and channels such as Walmart.
The product was once a hot seller at home and abroad.

In October 2015 , the first product, ROIDMI Music Bluetooth Car Charger, was launched on Xiaomi crowdfunding; at the end of 2016, the first Mi product, the Mi Car Air Purifier, was officially launched on the market; in 2018, the Roidmi handheld cordless vacuum cleaner was launched on Xiaomi crowdfunding, with 12,000 orders and a completion rate of 6141%, becoming a phenomenal product in the industry; in 2021, the first self-dust collecting sweeping robot EVE Plus was released. Through the SLAM algorithm, it can quickly scan the entire house and automatically draw a map, so that it can clean in a preset order or schedule to clean designated rooms.
Roidmi, which is in a period of rapid development, has invested a lot in scientific research, insisting on independent research and development of core technologies such as brushless motors, dust and gas separation, and battery management. The company has more than 200 technical patents.
Since its birth, Roidmi vacuum cleaners have won many design awards including the Red Dot Award, iF Award, DFA Design Award, Good Design Award, Contemporary Good Design Gold Award, Taihu Design Award, etc. In 2021, Roidmi vacuum cleaners have been sold in 60 countries overseas, becoming a Chinese emerging brand that is popular at home and abroad with its product strength.
As a domestic brand that was established only five years ago , Roidmi has developed very quickly. Relevant data shows that in 2022, Ruimi achieved operating income of about 600 million yuan. From 2022 to 2024, the industry competition landscape intensified, and Ruimi stopped operating the brand in just two years. The company mentioned: "This is a well-considered choice. Unfortunately, the current business environment and company resources no longer allow us to continue to operate in the way you expect."
The reshuffle of the sweeping machine industry is accelerating
Roidmi entered the robot vacuum cleaner market in 2021 and released its first self-dust-collecting robot vacuum cleaner. Its entry into the market coincided with the "cold winter" of the robot vacuum cleaner market.
According to data from Aowei Cloud Network, China's sweeping robot market experienced rapid development from 2018 to 2020, with annual sales exceeding 6 million units. However, starting in 2021, sales in the sweeping robot market declined to 5.78 million units, and in 2022 sales further dropped to 4.414 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 23.8%.
In 2023, the robot vacuum cleaner market recovered slightly, but sales only returned to the level of six years ago, reaching 4.58 million units. Analysts at the China Business Industry Research Institute predict that the robot vacuum cleaner market will continue to recover in 2024, but retail sales will only reach 5.25 million units.
As the market share shrinks, the entry of multiple players into this field has made industry competition even more intense.
At present, the domestic sweeping robot industry has become a red ocean. Ecovacs, Dreame, Roborock, Inking and Xiaomi occupy the main market share of online sweeping robots. Dreame and Inking are also growing strongly. The concentration of leading brands has increased and competition among companies is fierce.
Especially this year, the growth of the sweeping robot industry has encountered a bottleneck. Previously, the chairman of Stone Technology was accused by investors of "not doing his job properly" after the performance decline; then there was news of large-scale layoffs at Yunjing, but an insider of Yunjing said that this personnel change was a normal organizational structure adjustment and personnel turnover.
iRobot, the robot vacuum cleaner maker, has also launched two layoffs this year . In January, after Amazon's acquisition of iRobot failed, iRobot laid off 350 employees, about one-third of its total employees. Later, the company laid off about 105 employees again, accounting for 16% of its employees.
Previously, Stone Technology and Ecovacs have always been the big money-making kings in this field. These two leading domestic companies have set their sights on overseas markets. Now their days are not so easy, and their performance this year is also worrying.
The financial report shows that Stone Technology's net profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company in the third quarter was 350 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 43%; Ecovacs' net profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company was only 6.04 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 69%.
A leading sweeper manufacturer said that the industry competition has been very fierce in the past two years, with vicious competition and price wars among companies, especially the sharp decline in profits of two listed companies, Stone and Ecovacs, which has dealt a heavy blow to industry confidence.
