Temu has become the world's second largest e-commerce platform, which has been trending in China recently. Foreign netizens have also paid attention to Temu recently, not because of its ranking, but because of its products.
Recently, several videos on TikTok have attracted much attention from foreign netizens. Their contents have one thing in common: consumers share the "failed" products they bought on Temu.
1. The failed “big photo”
First, a netizen with the ID tyla shared the "Temu failed photo banner" on TikTok. The video is only 47 seconds long, but it has been played 111,300 times on TikTok and has more than 7,200 comments.
The video shows that Tyla has a very small old group photo. In order to get a larger photo, she ordered a banner from Temu; but the product that arrived was not as she expected. In the video, she showed the banner to netizens: When she first saw the lower half, Tyla said "this is cool"; but when she saw the upper half, Tyla laughed - although the photo was used as a template, the facial features of the people on the banner were far from the photo. At the end of the video, Tyla couldn't help laughing and exclaimed "f**king Temu".
Some funny netizens commented, "Whoever printed that out might have to take a leave of absence due to PTSD and visual trauma", "This must be Temu's greatest failure"; some rational netizens analyzed the problem, "If you send a low-resolution image, they will use Ai to enlarge it", "This photo is too small and cannot be enlarged that much; they must vectorize the image to adjust some details."
The top comment on the video was "Don't buy the croissant lamp," which came from a video shared by another TikTok user.
2. “Real” Croissant Table Lamp
The netizen with the ID froginahatgirl said in a video posted on TikTok that she got a table lamp purchased from Temu from her sister. She originally placed it in the bedroom, but one day when she got home from work, she found hundreds of ants under the table lamp, which made her wonder whether the table lamp was made of resin.
In the video, she broke the lamp in half and found a thin layer of butter baked goods; to further confirm the material of the lamp, the netizen put it in his mouth and said with a smile, "This is simply food." The video has been played 1.5 million times and has 20,900 comments.
Many netizens said that they would check the items they bought from Temu: "I have to check the cat lamp I bought from Temu", "I have a chicken nugget keychain bought from Temu, and I always believed that it is a real resin nugget." But more netizens were worried about froginahatgirl putting the "table lamp" into her mouth to "taste" it: "I'm more shocked that you tried it", "Did you just eat a Temu croissant?"
It is worth mentioning that this video not only went viral on TikTok, but also received 9.8 million views and nearly 18,000 comments on X.
In addition, there are foreign netizens who bought a TV on Temu and received a piece of "cloth" (projector screen), but it was too small to use; there are also foreign netizens who bought Disney socks on Temu, but received "Mickey Mouse" socks. These funny "complaint" videos have also received very high views on TikTok, especially the "Mickey Mouse" socks, which have been viewed 15.9 million times. Temu commodity funny |
