On December 21, 2023, Cainiao Group and Guizhou Xijiu E-Commerce Information Industry Co., Ltd. held a strategic cooperation signing ceremony. The two parties will jointly explore multiple fields such as global supply chain, e-commerce going global and digital freight, green and sustainable development, and help Guizhou Xijiu create a new benchmark for "white wine going global."

 

According to the direction of the strategic agreement, Cainiao will provide full-link, digital global supply chain services for Guizhou Xijiu's overseas expansion, and plans to launch a "white wine overseas expansion" freight line covering Southeast Asia, North America, Europe, the Middle East and other countries and regions, to assist Guizhou Xijiu's overseas e-commerce expansion and the construction of a global integrated warehousing and distribution supply chain.

 

Xijiu has a long wine-making history dating back to the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty and a profound cultural heritage of "Junpin Culture". It continues to innovate in product innovation, marketing reform, and market layout. It is already one of the top eight Chinese liquor brands and the second leading brand of sauce-flavored liquor, and is actively seeking to go overseas.

 


Cainiao has the world's largest cross-border e-commerce warehouse network , operating approximately 3 million square meters of cross-border dedicated warehouses and 18 overseas distribution centers. It has approximately 170 chartered flights and packaged cargo flights and over 2,700 truck transport routes operating around the world every week . It has also cooperated with service providers at over 100 ports to establish an intelligent customs clearance system .

 

The reporter learned at the signing ceremony that with the rise and vigorous development of wine e-commerce, the requirements for wine packaging and transportation have also risen. Wine is different from other fast-moving consumer goods. It has a high value and is easily damaged during transportation. On the one hand, high-end liquor has high requirements for the security of the entire logistics process; on the other hand, wine is a fragile item and has extremely high requirements for cross-border transportation safety.

 

In particular, in response to the needs of Xijiu e-commerce going global, Cainiao's global digital supply chain can visualize the entire chain of logistics nodes from factories, port trailers, sea transportation to delivery to the destination country. Through real-time location tracking by GPS throughout the entire process, Cainiao can provide feedback on the real-time location of Xijiu's global transportation at any time.

 

Specifically, in terms of transportation safety, Cainiao's domestic railway section uses high-side vehicles to ensure the safety of wine transportation throughout the entire process; Cainiao's special wine warehouse located at the Shenzhen port can carry out professional temporary storage and transfer of white wine to sea containers, and monitor the entire process to ensure that there is no theft or damage. In terms of the certainty of ocean shipping performance, Cainiao signs directly with shipping companies to lock in space in advance, and 100% guarantee space and containers during the peak season. The high-certainty performance service helps Guizhou Xijiu grasp overseas promotion nodes and expand the scale of its overseas business.

 

Yuan Xiaojun, general manager of Guizhou Xijiu E-commerce Information Industry Co., Ltd., said that the competition among Chinese wine companies in the international market is largely a competition of supply chain capabilities. It is reported that as the world's largest cross-border e-commerce logistics company, Cainiao's global smart logistics network covers more than 200 countries and regions. In fiscal year 2023, Cainiao handled more than 1.5 billion cross-border parcels, serving 133 million cross-border consumers and more than 100,000 merchants and brands.
