It has been more than a year since Temu came into the public eye with the slogan "Shop like a millionaire". During this period, Temu has been downloaded more than 100 million times on Google Play and has been launched in many European countries.
According to data recently released by GWS Magnify, a Google search and mobile consumer intelligence company , Temu's downloads in Europe reached 40.54 million in October this year, and its monthly active mobile users reached 51 million.
The number of daily active users in the UK reached 5.4 million, and the monthly visits in Poland reached 10.8 million. These are single-month data.
Looking at the data for the whole year, Temu’s downloads in Spain and Portugal reached 10 million and 1.95 million times respectively (as of the time of data source release).
Although there is no specific data, according to Danish media, Temu often tops the list of the most downloaded programs in the country.
The idea behind Temu's slogan is to give all consumers the opportunity to "buy quality products at reasonable prices" and "democratize the supply chain so that everyone can shop like a millionaire."
The reason why we have the confidence to put forward this slogan is that users can buy very cheap goods on this platform. Since there are no other links, users can buy things directly from manufacturers.
Temu mentioned this in his reply to foreign media: shipping directly from the source eliminates the steps and costs of transportation, storage, etc., which are the reasons for the low efficiency and high cost of traditional retail; when tens of thousands of consumers come together to buy the same product, it can also be shipped in batches, which makes the originally expensive transportation of single items much cheaper. As Temu develops better and better in the European market, it is also receiving more and more attention from the media and consumer organizations.
Italian consumer organization Altroconsumo previously conducted a survey on 28 products on Temu, including electronic products, cosmetics and toys, but found that there were more or less some problems in all of them.
Some products have safety issues. For example, the helmets on electric scooters are not strong enough to mitigate the impact of collisions. Some have problems with unknown ingredients. Nearly half of the products have such problems.
In response to these questions, Tmue stated in its reply to the media that it immediately removed all the products mentioned by Altroconsumo; although the platform is only one year old, it is committed to complying with all relevant laws and regulations.
Temu did not respond to the data protection issues raised in the Grizzly Research report, but believed that the company's allegations were intended to cause the company's stock price to fall. Grizzly Research is a short-selling firm, which means that the company makes money by seeing the stock price fall .
Temu says it is available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, both of which have strict censorship and standards in place. Temu Europe |
