A large-scale double standard scene?

Is Amazon performing a large-scale "double standard" scene? Generally speaking, ordinary sellers who fake orders and reviews will inevitably have their accounts blocked and funds deducted, but in recent times, Amazon's own products have repeatedly been exposed for blatantly asking for reviews. Recently, another seller exposed that Amazon's own products had a blatant operation, blatantly giving away gift cards.

There is an obvious violation of regulations in a link to a self-operated Best Seller on Amazon . The title of a carbon dioxide gas bottle for a home soda maker under the SodaStream brand clearly states "Plus $15 Amazon.com Gift Card with Exchange", which means that if you send the gas bottle back, you can get a $15 Amazon gift card.

Then, looking through the main video and A+ page, you can see how to redeem a $15 gift card. Even in the demonstration video, customers are clearly required to provide an email address to redeem the gift card, and a QR code and a link to the official website are added.

A careful observation reveals that this link was launched in June 2020. It is a BestSeller in a small category. It currently has a rating of 11,450 and is owned by Amazon.

In this regard, many sellers have doubts: "How did this brother's $15 gift card get bundled in?" An insider revealed that only self-operated products can be bundled with Amazon Gift Card, and ordinary sellers can only bundle products from their own accounts.

The words "gift cards" are clearly mentioned in the title, and the demonstration video also requires sellers to provide their email addresses and links to the official promotional website. This wave of Amazon's self-operated operations has made sellers unable to sit still, and complaints are endless: "Only the officials are allowed to set fires, and the people are not allowed to light lamps", "It turns out that Amazon's self-operated products are their own sons, and ordinary people can't compare to them."

Previously, there were media reports that Amazon’s own-brand products openly asked for positive reviews, and the cards were very similar to the review cards used by most sellers who were previously banned by Amazon for asking for reviews. They all had the same familiar operation, first thanking consumers for buying Amazon’s own-brand products, and then begging consumers to leave reviews for the products. In the middle, a very obvious QR code page was displayed, and consumers could scan it to choose a site to log in, and then review the product.

Although the conventional words such as positive reviews and comment cashback are not explicitly mentioned, many sellers believe that Amazon's self-operated business has violated regulations.

As we all know, Amazon has expressly prohibited the use of gift cards, coupons, etc. in exchange for positive reviews, which is a violation of regulations. However, many sellers have pointed out that the above-mentioned behavior of self-operated products is not the same as the behavior of Chinese sellers sending cards. Sellers should be careful and never touch the edge. Once something goes wrong, they will fall into the abyss.
