Just now, Amazon launched a new feature for sellers!

Just yesterday, Amazon announced a new service for sellers - Supply Chain by Amazon , saying that this service will greatly improve sellers' inventory turnover and delivery efficiency, and significantly reduce sellers' operating costs.

If someone didn’t know what supply chain meant before 2020, they certainly knew what it meant after the global supply chain collapsed due to the pandemic. The supply chain collapse caused products to be stranded between manufacturers and consumers, and Amazon wanted to free merchants from the supply chain.

Amazon released Amazon Supply Chain Services at its annual seller conference Accelerate in Seattle, and explained:

Amazon's supply chain will pull inventory directly from manufacturers around the world and will be responsible for cross-border shipping, handling customs clearance, ground transportation, and bulk storage of inventory.

Moreover, Amazon promised sellers that they can use it not only on Amazon, but also on other sales channels, including independent websites and offline physical stores.

Compared to when Amazon launched Amazon warehousing and delivery a year ago, the future Amazon supply chain will take Amazon's logistics capabilities to a whole new level.

According to Amazon, the new supply chain service is designed to provide low-cost long-term storage, giving sellers the option to store their inventory in Amazon distribution centers and seamlessly replenish it at fulfillment centers.

In addition, Amazon also announced multi-channel distribution on the same day:

“Amazon’s selling partners sell products through multiple sales channels, including online and in-store, and we found it difficult to keep products in stock while selling across all channels.”

“To meet this need, we are launching Multi-Channel Distribution, a feature that enables sellers to transfer their products from AWD in bulk to any sales channel and simplifies supply chain management by allowing sellers to save costs by consolidating shipments. MCD is currently being tested as a pilot program with a small number of sellers and is expected to be available to all sellers later this year.”

“We’re excited to help Amazon sellers save more money, drive more business growth, and have more time to continue inventing amazing products for customers,” said Dhamesh Mehta, vice president of Amazon’s Worldwide Selling Partner Services .
