The main reason for this situation is due to the cultural differences between China and the West. Many things that foreigners are interested in are often not felt by people in China at all. This is why operations and product development mainly rely on the support of various data when selecting products.

 

Recently, an operator shared his latest product selections and said that he could not understand European people's aesthetic taste.



As can be seen from the picture, this product should be a women's shower cap or swimming cap decorated with colorful petals, but it does not seem to have any appeal to Chinese people at all.

 

But according to the operator, this product is selling particularly well in Europe and has been sold out, so it needs to be restocked recently.

 

Unexpectedly, this complaint quickly resonated with many cross-border people. They all said that they could not understand foreigners' aesthetic tastes at all and shared their own strange experiences.

 

A seller doing foreign trade said, "Since I started doing foreign trade, no one is willing to pick up my products when they fall in the corridor because they are so ugly... I used to have to be on guard against workers stealing my products, but now I don't have to worry about that at all."

 

Some people also said that ever since they taught their German girlfriends how to shop on Taobao, their own Taobao collections have been filled with things that are hard to describe, and Taobao's "Guess What You Like" function has become outdated.

 

Faced with this kind of doubt, the operator would sometimes ask his supervisor, how can these foreigners maintain such high enthusiasm for shopping when every time they shop, they only receive our products worth a few dollars?

 

From all these stories, we can see that there are indeed big differences in aesthetics between Westerners and Chinese. Therefore, when choosing products, cross-border people should not rely too much on the judgment of their supervisors, after all, the style they like may be exactly what foreigners are not interested in.
