Breaking news! Another product has been removed from Amazon due to safety issues

Recently, many products have been removed from Amazon due to safety issues. Recently, another product was warned by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission for safety risks , and Amazon also took action to remove it from the shelves.

It is understood that a smoke alarm branded "BQQZHZ" was recently removed from Amazon. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, this product is completely non-compliant and does not even work at all.

After investigation, it was found that this smoke alarm was priced at US$46. Perhaps because this type of product is not generally used, the product had good sales before the quality problems were exposed.

Lauren Kirchner, an investigative reporter for Consumer Reports, could not help but sneer: "I was shocked to see this news because the products produced by 'BQQZHZ', a brand that has long been trusted and loyal to consumers, are actually very dangerous garbage."

Although Amazon quietly removed the product from its shelves after noticing the problem, it did not offer any compensation or action to consumers who had already purchased the product.

Kirchner believes that the brand's name actually gives some clues: BQQZHZ looks like a few letters randomly selected from the alphabet, without any meaning. If a brand's name is randomly chosen, how good can its products be?

In fact, whether it is a big brand or a small workshop, it is an indisputable fact that Amazon has been frequently exposed to product quality problems. Industry experts have long warned that the e-commerce giant has become a bazaar full of banned and dangerous products.

In 2019, The Wall Street Journal conducted an investigation and found that more than 4,000 products sold on Amazon were considered to have safety risks.

In 2021, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission took legal action against Amazon, trying to remove dangerous items sold by third-party sellers on its platform, including flammable children's pajamas, hair dryers with the risk of electric leakage, and of course, malfunctioning smoke detectors.

Unfortunately, the CPSC has limited authority to recall products, and legal action is time-consuming and laborious. However, if the incident can be brought to the public's attention, it will definitely have a certain effect.

Just like the Peloton treadmill case in 2021, the brand refused to recall the defective products until the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission released a video of a child getting into trouble while using the product. The brand then recalled the product under public pressure.

For sellers, product problems are definitely the most undesirable situation, but if it really happens, it is definitely better to respond proactively than to avoid talking about it.
