FBA warehouses are seriously overwhelmed, and it takes sellers 3 months to put their goods on the shelves

Problems with FBA warehousing and slow shelving have erupted in a concentrated manner. It has become normal for goods not to be warehousing for 50 days and not to be shelved for 2 months. The rankings of many sellers have declined and there is a serious shortage of goods.

Many Amazon warehouses were overwhelmed, and popular warehouses were often unable to make reservations or cancelled appointments. In addition , UPS strictly investigated accounts that had lost shipments, resulting in a lot of goods being piled up in overseas warehouses, and many overseas warehouses were close to paralysis. At the same time, after the implementation of Amazon's new regulations, new requirements were put forward for PO accuracy. Some tail-end card dispatch appointment accounts were blocked, appointment channels were reduced, and many sellers could not deliver goods at all.

Too slow! The seller's goods have not been put on the shelves for 3 months

Recently, many sellers have reported that it is too difficult to enter the warehouse and put the goods on the shelves of FBA. The minimum time for goods to enter the warehouse through the general shipping channel is 40 days, and some have not entered the warehouse for 50 days. The time to put the goods on the shelves is even slower, and the goods have not been put on the shelves for 3 months after being signed by the warehouse.

A seller said that recently, more than a dozen shipments have always encountered problems such as ship damage, customs inspection, and inability to schedule warehouse entry. These shipments were sent through different freight forwarders, but encountered the same problem, which shows that this is a "common problem" in current shipments. The seller was helpless: "Lack of inventory has a great impact on the ranking of new products. Several of them have dropped down."

According to feedback from many parties, the delivery of parcels to FBA warehouses has been very slow recently, and some popular warehouses cannot enter at all . For example, SMF3 appointments are often canceled; LAX9 simply does not make appointments, and it took half a month to get an appointment.

The goods are slow to enter the warehouse and even harder to put on the shelves. Seller A said that he sent three ONT8 tickets on February 20, signed for them on March 11, but they have not been put on the shelves yet. The shipment is shown as completed, but no application for investigation is given. The investigation has been delayed to June 24. All the goods sent from the same container are the same. It has been more than 3 months since the shipment , and the seller's goods have not been put on the shelves yet!

Seller B said that the goods signed for at the end of February were not put on the shelves until the end of April, and the operation center had been transferring them in the meantime. Seller C was helpless: "The goods I sent out drifted on the sea for a month, the customs inspected them for 10 days, and Amazon still hadn't received them after 20 days of processing. The new product period is about to end, and the goods are still unsaleable."

The "common problem" of shipping affects a large number of sellers, and everyone is stumped by the problems of warehousing and listing.

“——The warehouse signed for it on April 13, but it’s not on the shelf yet;

——I have been like this recently, too slow in entering the warehouse;

——Issues related to listing, no progress after 15 days;

——It took a month after signing for the goods to be received, and they were sent by express delivery;

——Recently, it takes a long time to get the goods on the shelves after delivery. It depends entirely on luck.

——For a batch of goods that entered the warehouse on April 24, only 2 out of 50 pieces were put on the shelf;

——It’s been almost two months and the logistics still shows in transit;

——GYR3 has been delivered for 7 days, and there is no movement in the backend. I don’t know when the goods will be signed for;

——ONT8 has been waiting for more than a week and is still in the registered status. ”

The US terminal is seriously congested and many Amazon warehouses are overwhelmed

Sellers summarize the current logistics situation: slow warehouse booking, slow warehouse entry, slow receiving, slow shelf listing! The US tail warehouses and trucks are all congested, and even Amazon's own trucks have to queue up.

According to a logistics insider, there are now long queues of trucks outside Amazon warehouses, causing severe congestion. Some warehouses are already overwhelmed and goods cannot enter at all.

At present, popular warehouses such as GYR3, GYT3, SMG3, LSX9, SMF3, and LAX9 are all in a state of overstocking. Warehouses such as LGB8, LAS1, SBD1, and SCK4 are seriously congested, making it difficult to make reservations .

A logistics practitioner issued a reminder: Due to the overcrowding of some warehouses in the western United States, it is impossible to make appointments or deliver goods to the warehouses. It is recommended to confirm the required time before shipment. For goods in a hurry, it is recommended to use express delivery.

The warehouse congestion has brought a lot of uncertainty to the transportation of goods. A seller sent goods to the GYR3 warehouse in the United States. The goods arrived at the warehouse on April 30, but they were not registered for receipt 22 days later. A case was opened to contact customer service. The customer service said that the warehouse had received it, but the shipment information page did not show it. The warehouse was full and the shipment was in queue . The seller once suspected that the goods were lost?

The inability to display the estimated delivery time and other information of the shipment has also made some sellers say: "This is playing with your eyes closed. I have no idea where my goods are or when they can be sold."

What's more frightening is that it's unknown when Amazon's warehouse explosion will ease. On May 23, some employees at Amazon's Seattle headquarters planned to strike, and organizers hoped that the strike would attract at least 1,000 employees to participate. Since 2022, Amazon has laid off 27,000 jobs, many of which are warehouse workers. Perhaps due to insufficient manpower, multiple warehouse explosions have occurred.

A large number of booking accounts have been shut down, and overseas warehouses are close to paralysis.

In the opinion of Arien, a logistics expert in the industry , this wave of difficulties in warehousing and listing products directly reflected on the seller's side is caused by multiple factors.

1. Currently, many warehouses that have been overwhelmed have serious cancellation issues, making it difficult to make reservations;

2. UPS strictly checks the accounts that have been leaked. Many goods are piled up in overseas warehouses and need to be switched to FedEx or FedEx. The volume of goods in regular UPS accounts and newly opened low-price accounts has increased dramatically. Many overseas warehouses used for transit and unpacking are almost paralyzed.

3. Some of the card reservation accounts at the end are down;

4. Amazon’s new regulations require PO accuracy. A large number of PO accounts are incorrect and deliveries are made to random warehouses, resulting in many accounts being blocked.

Industry insider Dawei Ge introduced the situation in more detail. Dawei Ge said that many sellers previously used air delivery channels, and many air delivery channels used swindle accounts. After UPS carried out a major rectification, once they were found out, they would be subject to minor penalties such as paying back the freight, downgrading discounts, and stopping the warehouse's full container delivery service. In serious cases, they might be prosecuted, held accountable for relevant legal responsibilities, and the delivery warehouse address would be blacklisted. Now people dare not use swindle accounts anymore, and most of them have switched to truck delivery.

Kapai itself is slow and has limited resources. In this case, Amazon also encountered new reservation rules that were implemented in May. The new rules require the carrier's PO accuracy to be above 95%, and the reservation list accuracy must not be less than 85%. Otherwise, Amazon will close the reservation account or freeze the account for 30 days.

In order to avoid having their reservation accounts shut down, truck companies strictly control the number of reservation accounts issued, and Amazon reservation accounts are hard to come by. Some popular warehouses that are overwhelmed often fail to make reservations or cancel reservations. Some "full container direct delivery" cabinets can only be stacked in the truck company's yard, incurring high storage fees and frame fees every day, or they have to be pulled back to overseas warehouses to be disassembled and re-delivered, so many truck companies are trying their best to make reservations.

The delivery company enters the warehouse with the reservation number of the PO. If the reservation cannot be made, the seller's goods cannot be delivered. Due to some random delivery warehouses and incorrect PO numbers, some carriers' reservation accounts were directly blocked, and many delivery companies are facing the situation of no reservation accounts available.

A series of problems have emerged, slowing down the overall delivery of goods to the US. However, in the long run, it is beneficial to both sellers and regular freight forwarders. In the future, the credibility of freight forwarders who collect goods at low prices will be lower. The previous non-compliant operations such as combined delivery to warehouses, mixed delivery to warehouses, and delivery to distant warehouses and nearby warehouses will be greatly reduced, and the overall accuracy and timeliness of goods delivery will be improved.

During this process, the behavior of logistics providers is regulated, and the delivery timeliness of subsequent sellers will be more guaranteed.
