Data from a recruitment platform shows that the average annual salary for cross-border e-commerce talents speaking small languages ​​was 157,600 yuan in the past year (March 2022 to February 2023), an increase of 12.65%. The demand for talents in languages ​​such as Japanese and German is relatively large.

Coincidentally, in the first week of March, more than 700,000 overseas customers on Alibaba International Station watched more than 50,000 cross-border live broadcasts of Chinese factories. More than 60,000 foreign trade companies started cross-border live broadcasts, doubling the number of the same period last year.

 

 

At present, virtual live streaming has appeared in the domestic market. It is reported that the cost of virtual live streaming is less than 10% of that of real-life live streaming. Therefore, some industry insiders predict that this situation will spread to the cross-border track in the future. "With the dividends from platforms such as TikTok and overseas traffic, combined with China's supply chain advantages, Chinese cross-border companies will focus on the live streaming track in the next 3-5 years." Many cross-border sellers are optimistic about the development of overseas live streaming, and at present, many people have indeed successfully made money.

 

Some sellers live broadcast on TikTok and have to pack hundreds of packages after each live broadcast. In the live broadcast with the highest transaction volume, the order alone was worth US$2,100.

 

There are also reports that sellers on Alibaba International Station have successfully won overseas orders worth 200 million yuan through cross-border live streaming .

An operator said that the categories his friend is currently working on have good repurchase and retention rates on TikTok, and it is very worth investing in at the moment.

 

There are also many sellers who have not yet made back their investment in live streaming, but they still believe that this is an opportunity that sellers cannot miss. "For us, the conversion rate has not yet reached our expectations, but platforms such as TikTok have a lot of traffic, which is a good choice for brand exposure. The company is using TikTok to set up brand accounts and build a private traffic pool to increase brand exposure and awareness first, and then convert it later."

 

It is undeniable that cross-border live streaming is indeed still in its development dividend period, but sellers will inevitably "fall into the pit" in the process of testing new channels, and they can only slowly find ways to make money after paying tuition fees more or less. Moreover, the investment required for live streaming is not low. Not only does it require hiring relevant talents who know foreign languages, but it also requires companies to invest in advertising and video shooting and production. It is understood that since many cross-border companies are only entering the live broadcast industry with a trial and error attitude, the entire live broadcast team is very new and everything is done by trial and error.
