Amazon is testing an email marketing tool. Sellers: Good days are coming?

Recently, Amazon announced at its annual seller conference that sellers on Amazon's US site will soon be able to use the email marketing tools provided by the platform for free and reach users who have shopped in their stores through emails.

Amazon said in a statement on Wednesday that the types of users that merchants can reach through emails include returning customers, recent customers and high-spending customers.

For most sellers who rely on the Amazon platform, this new feature allows them to establish a more direct connection with consumers and has the opportunity to attract consumers to shop in their stores again and again.

Currently, Amazon has more than 1.9 million merchants worldwide and more than 300 million active users. This feature will stimulate greater development potential for platform sellers.

But for the millions of consumers who regularly shop on Amazon, emails from merchants can get lost in a sea of marketing pitches that flood their inboxes.

It is reported that Amazon said it is currently testing this new feature and plans to open it to all US sellers in early 2023.

Amazon said the feature will be free to sellers and that it plans to offer new templates to optimize email designs.

The e-commerce giant also said that customers can choose to opt out of receiving marketing text messages from Amazon and platform sellers if they feel the feature affects their shopping experience.

"Customers have complete control over the types of marketing communications they receive and can opt out of receiving them at any time," Amazon spokesman Patrick Graham told CNN in a statement Thursday.
