Facebook deletes some eBay groups, eBay is actively investigating the reasons

Recently, according to foreign media reports, Facebook deleted some Facebook groups with the name "eBay", which attracted the attention of eBay official staff.

Subsequently, eBay issued an announcement to explain the deletion of some eBay groups by Facebook.

eBay said that its staff recently learned that a small number of Facebook groups with the name "eBay" had been deleted . eBay emphasized that community is one of the cornerstones of eBay , and Facebook groups operated by eBay sellers are a key part of the community to stay connected and informed. eBay encourages eBay seller groups to deepen communication and connections.

Subsequently, eBay pointed out that the working group is currently actively investigating the reasons why Facebook deleted some eBay groups. The working group is currently in direct contact with Facebook to restore the eBay groups where sellers were deleted .

If your Facebook group is affected, eBay recommends that you contact eBay staff at [email protected] . You can provide the group name, the URL of the Facebook page that manages the group , the group URL, and any other relevant information.

In addition , eBay encourages all sellers who have proactively changed their Facebook group names to restore the old name that includes the word eBay ( within the Facebook group rules). It is worth noting that eBay also recommends that sellers learn about the relevant eBay badge to prevent similar problems.

According to eBay policy, users are prohibited from using the eBay name and logo in the following situations:

1. Business Cards

2. As a website link

3. Domain Name

4. The user's eBay store name or the user's username

5. Mailing Labels

6. Shop Windows

7. Mention eBay in a manner that could lead others to believe that the user is sponsored, affiliated, or endorsed by eBay

Subsequently, sellers expressed their views on Facebook's deletion of some eBay groups.

Seller A: eBay seems to be turning a blind eye to any competitive threat Facebook may pose. While Facebook has removed eBay groups, eBay employees are actively kicking sellers off eBay's own community forums in order to re-report customer service issues to their Facebook business team, which is simply incompetent.

Seller B: Let’s not forget the eBay and Facebook Live shopping events, which had a maximum of 400 attendees, which is a far cry from the millions of viewers on Walmart and Twitter.
