On September 1st local time, Amazon officially issued a press release announcing that it is launching a new delivery solution for sellers, namely Amazon Warehousing & Distribution ( AWD ) .
It is understood that Amazon's new program aims to provide low-cost long-term storage, allowing sellers to choose to store inventory in Amazon distribution centers and seamlessly replenish them to fulfillment centers. Sellers will then be able to use new, purpose-built logistics facilities for bulk commodity storage and automatic delivery .
According to Amazon, AWD will help sellers address key supply chain challenges, allowing them to better grow and manage their businesses while significantly cutting costs.
In recent years , global inventory backup storage and distribution have encountered major challenges due to supply chain constraints . For many sellers, the processes required to manage logistics and operations such as inventory storage, distribution and order fulfillment have become increasingly cumbersome, consuming more energy and economic costs.
In fact, according to the latest survey of Amazon sellers in the United States , high storage prices, complex fee structures, and insufficient storage capacity have become the three major pain points for sellers in upstream warehousing and distribution businesses .
Based on this, Amazon is preparing to launch the AWD service to provide sellers with a simple pay-as-you-go service, so that sellers can get rid of the time-consuming and cumbersome process of transferring inventory from upstream facilities to Amazon distribution centers.
Amazon said that AWD makes instant supply chain services a reality. Sellers can integrate their upstream inventory storage businesses with Amazon's distribution network to ensure that they always have the right amount of inventory at the right time and in the right place, and greatly reduce warehousing costs . Inventory management and operational efficiency will no longer be the biggest headache for sellers .
It is reported that sellers using AWD can integrate their global inventory through this service , and then view and manage this inventory in the seller center, simplifying their inventory management with a single inventory pool. By 2023, sellers will be able to use AWD to send their inventory to anywhere, including wholesale customers or physical stores.
In addition, Amazon said that this operation is very simple , and sellers only need to send inventory to Amazon distribution centers with one click . Sellers who use this service will reduce storage costs while no longer having to struggle with complex pricing plans and contracts .
Harris Chan, senior business manager of AmaMax , said that the key to this solution is automatic replenishment and bulk commodity processing , which just solves the long-standing problems faced by Amazon sellers . Even though he has more than 10 years of experience as an Amazon seller, he still finds it very troublesome to face this problem.
Amazon said it will share a series of new services at Amazon Accelerate , its annual seller conference , to be held September 14-15 , and will also provide a more in-depth and comprehensive explanation of AWD at that time . Amazon logistics |
