A large number of seller accounts on North American e-commerce platforms have been blocked!

Wayfair, which has always had a relaxed policy, has ushered in a new wave of account bans!

Recently, several Wayfair sellers reported that they received emails permanently terminating their accounts.

The main content of the email is that Wayfair suspended the seller's account in June due to serious pricing violations and other violations. However, after further review, the platform decided to permanently terminate the seller's account. The platform's financial team will coordinate to ensure that the seller gets the corresponding payment, and remind the seller not to create a new account, otherwise it will be blocked again.

It is worth noting that in addition to the sellers affected by the June account suspension, some new sellers reported that they did not receive emails from Wayfair to terminate their accounts, but they were unable to log in to their accounts. After contacting the platform, the platform did not give a reason for the suspension.

Some of these new sellers are in the stage of setting up new suppliers, while others have just uploaded new products but suddenly cannot log into their accounts.

Earlier in June, Wayfair had blocked the accounts of more than 1,000 sellers in batches.

At that time, Wayfair officially gave the reasons for the suspension as follows: the seller's product promotion was inaccurate, the store had a large number of visually duplicated skus, lacked product compliance information, had extremely poor logistics performance, and had a negative or very low customer satisfaction score. These sellers would face suspension if they met any of these criteria.

Industry insiders said that most of the accounts that were blocked at the time were those of sellers with poor performance and high product overlap, mainly to crack down on sellers who sold goods in bulk.

However, Wayfair only suspended the seller's account sales rights at the time, but retained the appeal channel. The seller only needs to fill out the questionnaire and appeal according to the email requirements. If the platform re-examines the seller and finds that there is no violation, the appeal can be approved.

However, the recent "account suspension" means permanent account suspension, involving both Wayfair's old and new stores. The specific reason for the suspension is still unclear.

For the sellers whose accounts have been blocked, if they want to minimize their losses, they can join forces with other sellers whose accounts have been blocked and hire professional lawyers to protect their rights.

Wayfair is the largest home furnishing e-commerce platform in the United States, with more than 15,000 suppliers around the world providing products and services. Its main business scope includes home furnishings, furniture, home appliances, home textiles, decorations, lamps, building materials, outdoor products and other products. The platform has more than 60 million monthly active users and is currently the number one professional home furnishing e-commerce sales platform in North America.

It is understood that Wayfair will have about 16,000 sellers at the end of 2021. Compared with Amazon, Wayfair's current competition is not so fierce, so a large number of Chinese sellers choose to settle in Wayfair.

However, the repeated account suspensions have also sounded the alarm for sellers. If they want to go further on the Wayfair platform, they must operate in compliance. If sellers intend to use Wayfair to distribute goods in bulk, they will be doomed to face a reshuffle in the industry.
