Countdown to Children's Day in Mexico, 7 major categories will usher in sales peaks

April 30th will be Children's Day in Mexico, and most parents will buy Children's Day gifts for their children, which has also boosted the popularity of e-commerce consumption in Mexico.

 

According to data from Concanaco-Servytur, online sales for Children's Day in Mexico exceeded 12 billion pesos in 2021, and online sales for Children's Day in Mexico are expected to increase this year as well.

 

According to a survey report on Mexican online shoppers in 2021 conducted by the Mexican Online Sales Association ( AMVO), a total of 42% of Mexican online shoppers plan to purchase products or services online during Children's Day.

 

There are seven popular categories, namely toys, clothing, game consoles and video games, board games, accessories, chocolates and sweets, and books and magazines.

 

Toys are very popular during Children's Day, accounting for 52%, followed by clothing, accounting for 38%.

 

Gaming products are also a popular choice for Mexican online shoppers, with consoles and video games accounting for 25% and board games accounting for 17%.

 

Accessories accounted for 13%. 11% of Mexican online shoppers chose chocolate and sweets, and 10% chose books and magazines.

 

Mexico is a country with many holidays. There are festivals almost every month, and every grand festival brings huge online consumer traffic.

 

Mexico, the second most populous country in Latin America, currently has a population of 128 million and is the largest e-commerce market in Latin America.

 

Mexico has a high Internet penetration rate and mobile terminals are the mainstream. A total of 95.9% of Internet users access the Internet through mobile terminals. The epidemic has forced Mexican consumers to change their previous consumption habits from offline to online. Data shows that Mexico's online sales are expected to increase to US$24.3 billion in 2024. The huge potential of Mexico's e-commerce market is self-evident.

 

It is worth mentioning that more than 50% of online shoppers in Mexico are between 15 and 34 years old, and they are highly receptive to cross-border products.

 

Therefore, for cross-border sellers, they must seize the opportunity of the rapid development of the Mexican market and make arrangements in advance to catch the ride of booming orders!
