Recently, affected by the changes in Japanese laws, Amazon Japan has frequently issued announcements to remind sellers that products exported to Japan need to be adjusted. Wine and seat belt sellers should pay special attention!
The following is the original announcement issued by Amazon for alcohol sellers:
Starting from April 1 this year , due to the revision of the Civil Code, the age of majority in Japan was lowered from 20 to 18, but the drinking age remains over 20.
To this end, sellers should be careful not to use the word "minors" when registering new catalog information such as product introduction content and product descriptions in the Seller Center .
In addition, if there are descriptions such as "minors" in the directory information , please correct them as follows: 1. "20 years old and above legal drinking": no need to modify; 2. "Sake for adults after adulthood/Sake for adults": needs to be corrected (please correct "adults" and "adults" to "20 years old" or "over 20 years old"); 3. “The law prohibits minors from drinking alcohol”: needs to be corrected (please change “minors” to “under 20 years old” or “under 20 years old”); 4. Please correct the "old" logo of the Brewers Association to the new logo: "No drinking allowed under 20 years old."
In addition to alcohol sellers, seat belt sellers in Japan also need to make adjustments based on the legal changes.
Recently, Amazon Japan issued an announcement stating that with the amendment of Article 13, Paragraph 3 and Paragraph 28 of Japan's "Labor Safety and Health Law Enforcement Ordinance" , the "safety belts" used in high-altitude operations such as the construction industry to prevent dangers caused by crashes will be discontinued and replaced with "fall prevention equipment."
In addition, after this revision, only "body belt type" (single suspension) and "harness type" (single suspension) will be recognized as "fall protection equipment" because these devices will meet the revised structural standards.
It should be noted that due to the end of the transition period, fall protection equipment that does not meet the revised structural standards will be banned from sale after January 2, 2022.
And due to the amendment of the law, "belt-type (U-shaped)" equipment will no longer be accepted as fall protection equipment, please do not sell "belt-type (U-shaped)" equipment as fall protection equipment. It is worth noting that "belt-type (U-shaped)" equipment and fall protection equipment can be sold as a set , but "belt-type (U-shaped)" equipment cannot be sold as fall protection equipment.
Sellers are requested to confirm whether their products comply with the revised legal standards. If unqualified products are listed, please contact the Amazon platform to stop listing them.
According to the amendment to the law, Amazon will review and determine product safety through documents related to the target products for sale. Amazon will announce the details in the Seller Platform announcement.
Even before the document screening begins, products that are not based on the new structural standards are not allowed to be sold, and once discovered, they will be banned from the shelves. Amazon Japan policy |
