eBay launches new feature to make it easier for sellers to communicate

eBay is launching a new mobile app messaging experience that will better connect sellers with buyers, improve the way they communicate with each other, and make it easier for sellers to manage messages. The beta version of this feature is currently rolling out, and sellers who have not received notifications can wait for a while.

 

The updated feature is only accessible on the mobile app, and the messaging experience on the desktop will not change . Sellers will be able to opt in to the beta version of the new experience after receiving a prompt in the app. Even if they receive a notification for the feature beta, sellers can still choose to opt out and use the old messaging format.

 

This new feature also means that sellers will be able to track all communications more closely , while the inbox will be easier to manage, all messages can be categorized and grouped by buyer or listing, and messages with buyers will be displayed in a more modern, user -friendly format . This new experience makes messaging clearer and easier to use.

 

Additionally, like many other messaging platforms, messages from the same buyer will be grouped together in a threaded conversation , which allows sellers to view the complete conversation history with the buyer in chronological order .

 

eBay will begin moving all sellers to the new experience after the full version is launched in late spring, which will also have additional features, such as the ability to create automatic replies and send offers to buyers , and the ability to flag and delete message conversations.

 

Your old emails will still be available in the new format, as will any folders you created previously , and you won’t lose any messages. As with the old format, messages in the new experience will be retained for one year and then automatically deleted.

 

In addition, eBay also stated that this does not mean that it wants sellers to change the way they communicate with buyers or respond to buyers' messages more quickly. Sellers can still contact buyers when necessary, and there is no change in this regard.
