Attention! Amazon European FBA fees will increase...

The Spring Festival holiday has passed. As a cross-border person, you will devote yourself to work next. What opportunities and challenges will you face in the new year?

Just recently, Amazon Europe announced that in order to help British and EU sellers grow their business, the European site will update the referral fee and Amazon logistics fees (FBA) starting March 31 .

The changes to FBA delivery fees will take effect soon and apply to all Amazon European stores , including the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden and Poland. The details are as follows :

Parcel size and weight tiers for delivery charges will be changed: certain size and weight tiers will be introduced and removed from the delivery rate card;

Delivery rates will also change: Amazon will offer a 20% discount on European Fulfillment Network (EFN) fees from the EU (Germany, France, Italy, and Spain) to the UK (and vice versa) for one year;

There will also be changes to the sizes, weight classes, and rates for FBA Small and Light packages: Amazon stores in France, Italy, and Spain will increase the price qualification threshold for Small and Light packages from €10 to €11.

Amazon said that first of all, thank sellers for their trust in Amazon over the past year and for choosing the platform to power their business. Despite facing many challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic , supply chain bottlenecks and a tight labor market , many sellers are still able to make their businesses thrive in Amazon's European stores in such an environment .

In the past year, Amazon welcomed more than 130,000 new sellers, and third-party sellers sold more than 3.4 billion products in Amazon’s European stores alone , which is very encouraging.

In addition, Amazon also stated that since the outbreak of the epidemic, Amazon 's fulfillment capacity in Europe has more than doubled, and it has invested a lot of energy and costs in many areas such as delivery networks, fulfillment centers, sorting centers, regional aviation hubs and delivery stations to ensure the normal delivery and transportation of packages.

And in 2021, Amazon provided sellers with more than 250 new tools and is currently innovating further, working to build a range of programs and services to help sellers expand selection, reduce costs, and grow their business.

Throughout the pandemic , Amazon has supported sellers by deferring and keeping fee changes low while increasing significant and necessary investments in people, technology, transportation, and infrastructure. These are driving up costs, so adjustments to the fee structure are needed this year to partially offset the higher permanent operating costs Amazon will face in the future.

Sellers also expressed their views on the adjustment plan of FBA fees in Europe :

Seller A : What a joke! You lowered our restocking limits while aggressively promoting and signing up the most new sellers in a year. Instead of lowering my costs and helping me grow my business, this had the exact opposite effect and now my costs will be even greater.

Seller B : I have been forced to remove thousands of listings from my Eurozone due to your free listings under the 25€ policy. Sellers have withdrawn from your Eurozone due to your actions that have nothing to do with the supply chain. Do you really believe that a further increase in fees will attract them back?

Seller C : They seem to have forgotten the huge increase in profits during the pandemic. I don't see how they can justify any increase in fees. In fact, fees should be reduced across the board.

Amazon sellers are speechless about the upcoming increase in FBA fees in Europe . They said that under the epidemic environment, they are already facing supply chain bottlenecks, soaring freight costs and other cost increases, and now FBA fees in Europe are also going to increase, which really makes them want to cry out.
