Polish e-commerce company Allegro summarizes consumption trends in 2021

Allegro said fashion items are one of the most visited categories on the platform. In 2021, more than 70 million fashion items were sold on the Allegro platform, an increase of more than 60% from 2020.

 

So, what were the consumption trends over the past year?

 

According to Allegro's annual report, white is one of the popular colors in 2021, with one in every 10 dresses added to the shopping cart being white. At the same time, neon colors have also attracted people's attention, with nearly 35,000 searches related to "Neon" in the past year.

 

In addition, "sexy" is also one of the popular labels. Compared with 2020, the sales of belly-baring tops in 2021 increased by 21%. Spotted clothing is also popular among consumers. Data shows that more than 48,000 spotted women's clothing were sold on Allegro in 2021, most of which were dresses.

 

In addition to these, searches for bell-bottom pants almost doubled from 2020; more than 52,000 bucket hats were sold on Allegro in 2021, an average of 8 hats per hour (bucket hats had a peak of 1,399 searches in 24 hours); searches for skirts and jackets increased 116% year-on-year from 2020.

 

By category, for women, sportswear continues to be favored by female consumers. However, with the return of social activities, bra accessories have increased by more than 60% compared to 2020. Compared with 2020, female users are also significantly more likely to buy tights and swimsuits. In terms of footwear, sneakers dominate sales as usual. However, people's frequent travel has also led to the resurgence of short boots, snow boots, Wellington boots, and especially moon boots (sales increased by more than 411%).

 

Men's choices also reflect their trend of returning to the office and social gatherings. Compared with 2020, people's interest in suits, jackets and coats has increased significantly. When searching for footwear on Allegro, men also generally choose sneakers. In addition, people's interest in Wellington boots, hiking boots and snow boots has also increased significantly.

 

For children, in the footwear category, there is growing interest in children’s ankle boots, derby shoes and slippers. In addition, two weeks of heavy snow at the beginning of this year led to a surge in searches for snow boots.
