Demand for handmade products in Russia increased by 99% in December

Research shows that the demand for Russian handmade products has increased significantly in December. Most of these orders come from individual business owners who sell a variety of handmade souvenirs, accessories and hobby products. According to foreign media reports, the purchase volume in this sector increased by 99%, and the transaction amount paid increased by 192%. The average payment amount per order increased by 47% to 2,258 rubles.

The second place in terms of the number of paid orders was the "Clothing and footwear" category, where the number of purchases increased by 99%, the turnover of self-employed persons increased by 179% , and the average payment amount per order increased by 40% to 3,702 rubles.

In third place were cosmetics. The number of purchases in this segment increased by 116%, and the turnover of self-employed operators increased by 43%. At the same time, the average payment amount per order decreased by 34% to 2,416 rubles.

From December 20 to December 26, the number of paid services of self-employed people in the beauty industry increased by 34% year-on-year , and the payment turnover increased by 2 % year-on-year. The average payment amount per order decreased by 24% to 2,314 rubles. On top of that, Russians are also increasing their interest in eyebrow shaping, hairdresser services, as well as manicure and pedicure services .

Demand for various household services, including cleaning, is also growing. According to reports, the number of paid orders in this field in Russia this year has increased by 33% compared to last year . The turnover paid by self-employed persons has fallen by 33%, and the average payment amount per order has fallen by 49% to 448 rubles.

In addition, according to a survey by SberServices , Russians' interest in beauty services also increased in December.

Marina Aleksandrovskaya, COO of SberServices, commented that this year Russia has also seen a growth in interest in freelance services , especially photographers and videographers, with demand for these services being particularly high before the holidays.

In winter, especially in the run-up to the New Year holidays, the demand for express delivery services in Russia also increases. Due to the various holidays that follow one after another, the surge in demand for express delivery services is mainly due to the need for consumers to send gifts to each other.
