Cainiao Malaysia Kuala Lumpur e W TP Hub ( eHub for short) is an important project under the cooperation framework of eWTP (World Electronic Trade Platform) . It is located next to Kuala Lumpur International Airport and covers an area of more than 240,000 square meters, of which the logistics and warehousing area exceeds 100,000 square meters , including air cargo terminals, distribution centers and order fulfillment centers , which are independently operated by Cainiao . To help the export of local goods, Malaysia's three major ports , Port Klang West Port, Port Klang North Port and Johor Bahru Tanjung Pelepas Port, are equipped with B2B logistics provided by Cainiao, and the routes can cover 174 ports in 55 countries .
To facilitate faster customs clearance of goods and ensure on-site supervision , the Royal Malaysian Customs Department has set up an operations and administrative office within the hub for the first time . Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing speaks at the event
Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing said at the event: " I am honored to witness the official opening of Cainiao Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur e WP Hub. This is another milestone in the cooperation between the two sides in the field of digital economy. In the past few years, Alibaba Group has worked closely with Malaysian companies to jointly promote the development of Malaysia's digital economy infrastructure and promote Malaysian companies' participation in the global market. "
The official establishment of Cainiao Malaysia Kuala Lumpur e W TP Hub will help enhance Malaysia's position as a trade hub in Southeast Asia . This will also further accelerate the export of local specialty products, and Malaysian small and medium-sized enterprises can enjoy the same convenient online trade, fast customs clearance services, and efficient logistics and warehousing services as large multinational companies.
Wan Lin, CEO of Cainiao Network, said in his speech on behalf of Alibaba Group : "Cainiao's original intention of building a global digital logistics network is to make it easier for small and medium-sized enterprises to reach global customers and reduce the difficulties and challenges in international trade. Together with our partners, we have built the Cainiao Kuala Lumpur e W TP Hub in Malaysia. As a core component of the e-commerce fulfillment ecosystem, it will benefit local and domestic enterprises as well as global consumers, and will provide logistics support for major events such as the Tmall Double 11 Global Shopping Festival. We are honored to contribute to the development of the global economy through the hub ."
Over the next 10 years, the airport is expected to handle an additional 600,000 tons of cargo annually, reaching 1.3 million tons next year, and support more than 35,000 jobs during this period . With the continuous construction of this logistics hub, Kuala Lumpur International Airport has become one of the regional distribution centers for global e-commerce. Dato' Seri Diraja Zambri Abdul Kadir , Chairman of Malaysia Airports , said: "Our goal is to make Kuala Lumpur International Airport the preferred regional distribution hub in the Asia-Pacific region. Air cargo has shown great resilience during the pandemic over the past two years. Cainiao Malaysia Kuala Lumpur e WT Hub has further enhanced the airport's transportation capacity and operational efficiency through digital logistics technology, enhancing the airport's competitiveness in international transportation, and will further optimize air cargo handling processes, increase air cargo volume and enhance cross-border trade between countries."
In 2017, Malaysia became the first overseas co-construction country of eWTP , and Cainiao Malaysia Kuala Lumpur e Hub is an important project under the cooperation framework. In addition, the Malaysian government has also carried out extensive cooperation with Alibaba Group in trade, technology, training and other aspects, aiming to jointly build digital economic infrastructure and help small and medium-sized enterprises and young people participate in global trade. The two sides have worked closely in one-stop international trade services, cloud computing and big data centers, inclusive financial services and digital talent training.
Alibaba Cloud has built two cloud computing data centers in Malaysia. The Global Business Challenge ( GDT ) has in-depth communication and cooperation with Malaysian entrepreneurs through multiple projects to cultivate a new generation of entrepreneurs and technicians.
In the field of trade, the Malaysian government and Alibaba have tried many times in the field of digital economy, including working with the Malaysian Customs to achieve full digitization of Malaysian Customs declarations through technological upgrades . Traditional offline declarations take an average of 24 to 48 hours, but after online operations, customs clearance can be completed in an average of 1.5 hours , and 99.9% of online declared packages are cleared in seconds.
The two sides jointly held three "Malaysia National Week" events, showcasing hundreds of Malaysian brands and nearly a thousand products on the Alibaba platform to help Malaysian small and medium-sized enterprises export. "Recently, due to the impact of the epidemic, factory production has been reduced, resulting in shortages, which has had some impact on the cereal and biscuit categories, but we and the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation will continue to work together to introduce new Malaysian brands and products." said Ginny Lee , head of the official flagship store of Malaysian Food .
