Amazon Vine plans to charge $200, is it starting to cut leeks again?

Is Amazon cutting leeks again? As the saying goes, where there is demand, there is a market. Sellers on Amazon know the importance of reviews for a product, especially for new products. After Amazon cancelled the early reviewer program, the previously free Vine program has also started charging!

Sellers who have participated in the Vine program know that the review period of this program is really long. It is not friendly to new products at all. If no one comes to claim it 30 days after submission, they may not necessarily review it even if they claim it, and even if they do review it, it may not necessarily be a five-star review. They may even leave a negative review.

Moreover, the weight of comments in the Vine program is not high. Many reviews of products participating in the Vine program will not be pinned to the top, so the natural reviews will cover the comments of Vine green-label top reviewers, and green-label comments will basically not be seen on the homepage.

The key is that it is only valid for 3 months, and there is no charge if there are no comments within three months. However, even if there is only one comment within three months, a registration fee of 200 US dollars will be charged.

As for how many reviews you can get in three months, it depends on the specific performance of the product. Some products can only get 5-6 reviews in three months, which means that one review costs 30-40 US dollars, plus the product is also given away for free, so the cost is not low.

Amazon has detailed information on its Vine program charging policy :

1. When will the registration fee be charged?

Starting October 12, 2021, we will charge a registration fee of $200 for each registered parent ASIN, and the registration fee will be displayed at the time of registration. For each parent ASIN, we will charge you 7 days after the date of the first Vine review of the product.

2. What happens if a product does not receive any reviews?

We do not charge a registration fee if no reviews are received or if the first Amazon Vine review is posted more than 90 days after we publish the product to Vine Voices.

3. Will my products currently enrolled in the program be affected by this change?

No, charging will start on October 12, 2021.

4. Can I get a refund if I receive a negative rating or review?

No, as stated in our Community Guidelines, we encourage customers to provide honest feedback, both positive and negative, about products and services. Amazon cannot provide refunds for Amazon Vine once this fee has been paid.

5. If I register an ASIN in multiple Amazon stores, do I need to pay the fee multiple times?

Yes, we charge a registration fee per country.

6. How do I track my payment for the Amazon Vine registration fee?

You can find the Amazon Vine registration fees charged to your account using the Charges page in your Payment Reports .

①In Seller Central, select Payments under Reports.

② Select [Transaction Summary] on the [Payment Dashboard].

③Click the amount mentioned in the [Total] column.

④Click any clickable amount under [Fees Charged by Amazon].

Many sellers joked that Chinese sellers cannot use agents to fake orders, they can only use Amazon to fake orders, and whether they can get good or bad reviews depends on their luck! It has to be said that Amazon is becoming more and more powerful.
