Amazon European VAT service launches new features!

Today, when I was browsing the Amazon seller forum, I found that Amazon Europe had released a new announcement, which stated that Amazon VAT Services will launch a new feature to facilitate sales partners doing business in the EU or the UK to independently choose tax service providers for VAT registration and declaration.

The specific content of the announcement is:

VAT Services on Amazon recently launched a new feature! This new feature helps sales partners doing business in the EU or the UK to choose their own tax service provider for VAT registration and reporting. This feature allows sellers to view the available tax service providers when registering for VAT Services on Amazon and select the preferred tax service provider before starting the VAT registration (or transfer) process.

When registering for VAT Services on Amazon, Amazon will assign a default tax service provider to the seller and provide the option to change it. By clicking the change option, the seller can select all tax service providers available in the region. After selecting, click "Agree and Continue" to proceed to the next step.

For sellers who choose Avalara, their VAT registration and declaration will be handled on Seller Central. For sellers who choose TB Accountants, AVASK or Taxually, their VAT registration will be handled on Seller Central. The tax service provider will contact the seller by email or phone to prepare the registration application in advance. After the registration is completed, the VAT declaration will be processed on Seller Central.

VAT Services on Amazon is a VAT compliance solution that allows sellers to manage European VAT registration and reporting obligations through third-party tax service providers in up to seven countries (the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Poland, and the Czech Republic). By easily and efficiently handling VAT compliance matters, sellers can save more time to expand their business in Europe.

In response to this announcement, some sellers replied that Avalara is not a good VAT service provider, that they have never registered with Avalara, and that they hope their seller friends can recommend some better VAT service providers.

Some sellers also pointed out that the announcement only mentioned that they could choose another service provider to handle VAT registration matters, but did not mention how to deal with issues such as monthly refunds.
