Today ( June 16 ) , the first China (Shandong) Cross-border E-commerce Trade Expo was held at Jinan Shungeng International Convention and Exhibition Center . This Shandong Cross-border E-commerce Expo was hosted by the Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce, supported by the cross-border e-commerce industry associations of 17 provinces and cities in the north and south, and Alibaba International Station was selected as a key partner. The exhibition will last for three days and will last until June 18 .
At the first day of the 2022 Shandong Cross-border E-commerce Ecological Conference, reporters learned that Shandong foreign trade companies are leveraging cross-border e-commerce platforms to enter the fast lane of going overseas. According to data from Alibaba International Station, 14,000 of the 41,000 Shandong foreign trade companies have settled in Alibaba International Station, accounting for nearly 35%. From January to May this year, the transaction volume of Shandong foreign trade companies on the international station increased by 55.6% year-on-year, higher than the overall growth rate of 26.8%. Digitalization has become a new driving force for the high-quality growth of Shandong's foreign trade.
The new momentum of digital foreign trade is accelerating Shandong merchants to go global. Last year, Shandong Province and Alibaba International Station jointly issued the "Implementation Plan for the Innovation and Development of Foreign Trade in Shandong Province ( 2021-2022)", proposing to promote the "industrial belt + cross-border e-commerce" model. To this end, this expo invited 19 characteristic industrial belts from 16 cities in Shandong, covering major cross-border e-commerce hot-selling categories such as wigs, eyelashes, toys, accessories, rope nets, etc., with a total of more than 100,000 SKUs.
On May 20 this year , commerce departments and industry associations in 12 places, including Shandong, and Alibaba International Station jointly launched the "Ten Measures to Relieve Foreign Trade Difficulties" to help foreign trade companies stabilize orders and secure markets. Since its launch at the end of March, the "Ten Measures to Relieve Foreign Trade Difficulties" have benefited 60,000 small and medium-sized businesses as of mid-June.
Among them, Alibaba International Station launched rule exemptions and star-level protection for merchants in severely affected areas. During this period, 30,000 merchants applied for epidemic exemptions, guaranteeing a total of 120,000 orders; the total amount of business loans, order loans, and letter of credit financing on the capital side covered 270 million yuan; the "30-day arrival guarantee" supply guarantee special event has received more than 3 million overseas buyers, and 20,000 merchants have launched a total of 250,000 live broadcasts, allowing overseas buyers to see the factories and products in depth; among them, the first domestic new energy digital exhibition launched in May brought together nearly 500 digital booths and more than 100,000 new energy products. At present, the June Summer Online Trade Fair has also been launched, covering ten major industries and gathering 10,000 digital booths.
Gu Guoming, a farmer-entrepreneur from Beiwangzhuang Village, Laiwu, Shandong, is accelerating his pace of going overseas. His company has achieved rapid development while enriching its product line through the development and sales of special products such as disinfection mats and cat scratching mats. In addition, in the face of problems such as rising shipping costs, thanks to the support policies of Alibaba International Station, it has also withstood the storm. According to Gu Guoming, the company 's sales in 2021 exceeded 27 million, an increase of 18% year-on-year, of which 70% of the revenue came from Alibaba International Station.
"At a time when the industry is facing uncertain risks and challenges, Alibaba International Station will become a 'digital outlet' opened at the doorstep of merchants, helping more and more companies to go overseas and win the battle for foreign trade recovery in the cross-border e-commerce battlefield." Zhang Kuo, president of Alibaba International Station, said that in order to further provide full-link cross-border trade protection to small and medium-sized foreign trade merchants, Alibaba International Station plans to launch a newly upgraded digital comprehensive service solution in September this year, covering the core issues of each link in the three stages of pre-sales, sales and after-sales. It is expected to be fully open to all cross-border merchants to help merchants receive orders, ship goods and collect payments.
According to the data recently released by the state, China's total import and export of goods in May was 3.45 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.6%, and the growth rate was 9.5 percentage points faster than the previous month. Among them , from January to May, general trade imports and exports accounted for 64% of the total import and export volume, an increase of 2.1 percentage points over the same period last year. This shows that the fundamentals of China's foreign trade are still stable, the development of cross-border e-commerce has entered the fast lane, and it has also given many regions the opportunity to drive the rise of leading industries through the development of cross-border e-commerce.
It is reported that the total exhibition area of this exhibition is 20,000 square meters, bringing together world-renowned cross-border e-commerce platforms, service provider resources, and high-quality product suppliers. It has six exhibition areas: cross-border e-commerce product selection area, industrial belt exhibition area, platform exhibition area, service provider exhibition area, park and city exhibition area, and imported product exhibition area. Tens of thousands of professional visitors are invited to the exhibition to select products and exchange ideas. At the same time, cross-border e-commerce docking activities will be held to create a cross-border e-commerce brand exhibition that integrates image display, product promotion, trade negotiations, professional forums, and investment promotion.
