AliExpress opens service center in Russia

Prior to this, AliExpress's inquiry business in Russia was handled by a third-party partner company. After the establishment of the service center, the relevant services for sellers and buyers were transferred to AliExpress itself.

The service center covers an area of about 1,500 square meters and includes offices and a training center. AliExpress will employ 400 residents in Novgorod and provide about 300 additional remote jobs for applicants from other cities.

The staff of the new center will be dedicated to serving buyers and sellers on the AliExpress market . The essence of their work is to receive and process requests from buyers and sellers through various communication channels . They will help solve problems that arise when interacting with the platform . Their main task is to maintain and enhance the experience of buyers and sellers in the process of using AliExpress services.

The customer representative said, "In the past year, AliExpress has developed rapidly in Russia. Responding to the needs of a wide audience is our most important task. We hope to go deeper into the platform and provide better services to buyers and sellers. Therefore, we decided to open our own service center locally and provide customers with a more satisfactory experience through a team of more than 700 people."

Russian e-commerce is also a product of the epidemic. Offline sales are restricted, and everyone's consumption channels have begun to shift online. According to local statistics in Russia , from January to June this year, e-commerce sales exceeded 50 billion rubles, about 670 million US dollars, 2.5 times that of the same period last year . It is expected that by the end of this year, the market turnover will reach 400 billion rubles, and by 2024 it may reach 1.1 trillion rubles.

AliExpress Russia was established in 2019. It is a joint venture established by Alibaba in Russia. In addition to local fan platforms such as Wildberrier and Ozon, AliExpress is also an important participant in the local e-commerce market. After seeing the potential of the Russian e-commerce market, it has increased its investment in the local area to gain a higher market share.

Although relatively niche in China, e-commerce in Russia is still in its development stage. Interested sellers should also conduct market research and make reasonable layout.
