Recently, Amazon Canada released an announcement announcing that it will update its expired product policy. This update mainly puts forward new requirements for the date format and labeling of expired products, which applies to shipments created after August 25. The specific content of the announcement is:
To avoid potential problems with expired products, Amazon has updated its expired product policy, specifically changing the labeling and expiration date format requirements.
This policy update applies to shipments created after August 25, 2021 and has no impact on existing inventory in Amazon fulfillment centers.
Ø Expiration dates are limited to and must be in the MM-DD-YYYY or MM-YYYY format. If the expiration date is in a different format, the seller must overwrite the existing date with a printed label showing the expiration date in the correct format; the batch number alone is not sufficient.
Ø All expired products must have the expiration date printed in 36-point (corresponding to small font size) or above. All box packaging, multi-piece packaging and display boxes must be marked with the expiration date on the box or bundle and on each individual item in the box or bundle.
Ø When sellers ship expired inventory to a fulfillment center, only one expiration date is allowed per ASIN in the same shipping box . Multiple ASINs with different expiration dates can be shipped in the same box if all units of each ASIN have the same expiration date.
In addition, Amazon also reminds that failure to comply with Amazon FBA product preparation requirements, safety requirements, and product restrictions may result in Amazon operations centers refusing inventory, disposing of or returning inventory, preventing future shipments to Amazon operations centers, or charging fees for product preparation and fulfillment center violations.
In response to this announcement from Amazon Canada, sellers have also expressed their opinions. Some people have raised the question, "What if the product is too small to fit in 36-point font?" Another seller said, "Thank God I only have one week's worth of inventory left. Imagine how terrible it would be if I had to re-label all my goods because some people thought 36-point font was best and the date format had to be a certain format, especially for sellers with inventory in transit."
He also lamented that Amazon has some ridiculous changes every week, which makes it increasingly difficult to sell on Amazon. FBA fees, taxes, and rising storage costs account for almost half of it.
The editor also reminds all sellers here that every time a new policy is announced, they should check whether their products are affected in a timely manner, carry out "fine-tuned" operations, and reduce unnecessary losses. policy Amazon Platform |
