Wish takes stricter penalties for misleading products

Compliance operation has always been an important operating principle emphasized by major e-commerce platforms, but violations still exist. Recently, the Wish platform released a new merchant policy, the main content of which is to take punishment measures such as flow restriction against sellers of misleading products. In the published content, Wish stated that if merchants are found to have violated the policy many times, they will not only face the punishment of the original policy, but also measures such as reducing exposure, withholding payments, and even suspending or terminating accounts.

Misleading products refer to products with false descriptions (pictures, titles, prices, etc.) or products that mislead users. For misleading products, Wish stated in its policy that if the seller places an order within 30 days of the day when the misleading product is found , the seller may face a compensation of $200 and be fully responsible for subsequent product refunds. Misleading products will have a destructive impact on the development of sellers and platforms, and are not conducive to creating a fair and sustainable market atmosphere. For this reason, Wish reminds sellers to operate in compliance.

Prior to releasing this policy, Wish also released two newly updated policies a week ago, including restrictions on WishPost accounts with duplicate real-name authentication information, clarification of existing processes related to order fulfillment, and explanations for questions about the previous suspension of some seller accounts.

Wish platform has recently updated its policies frequently. Whether it is the latest or previous policies, platform sellers must pay great attention to them. Some of the contents mentioned are easy for sellers to encounter in daily life. For example, selling counterfeit products on the platform, guiding users away from product page details, listing duplicate products, changing products to a different product , etc. are all violations.

While updating this policy, Wish also updated the ban page for misleading and unclear products. Sellers can go to Wish’s official website or platform to check and pay attention to whether their products comply with existing policies. They can use the real cases provided by its platform as a reference and not do anything illegal for the sake of temporary profits, which will affect their long-term development.
