Hot-selling products are limited to 20 restocks, Prime Day is suspended! Sellers: Canada site is going to be completely ruined...

On the Amazon platform, who can compete with sellers on the Indian site? Among the various answers, there must be sellers on the Canadian site ...

Amazon said that this year's Prime Day will be held in the second quarter and announced the latest delivery time for FBA goods. Just when a group of sellers were looking forward to big sales on Prime Day, sellers on the Indian and Canadian sites where Prime Day was suspended could only shed tears silently.

In fact, a large number of sellers outside of Amazon India and Canada are also suffering from storage capacity restrictions. What’s worse is that not only can sellers not ship goods, but they also need to pay excess storage capacity fees. Some sellers have already received notifications.

Amazon advises FBA sellers to prepare goods in advance, and Prime Day in India and Canada is suspended

Amazon issued a latest announcement stating that due to the continued impact of COVID-19 on shipping times and customs clearance in many countries, the platform recommends that sellers allow more time to ship Prime Day inventory items.

Sellers need to ship their FBA goods to the following countries before the following dates :

June 1: Australia ;

June 6: United Kingdom , Germany , France , Italy , Spain , Netherlands , Turkey ;

June 7: United Arab Emirates , Saudi Arabia ;

June 13: Japan .

Amazon Global Store said earlier that Amazon Prime Day 2021 will officially start in the second quarter of this year! While sellers are still guessing which month and day of the second quarter this year's Prime Day will fall on, sellers on the Indian and Canadian sites are wondering: Will there be no Prime Day event this year?

It is understood that as the COVID-19 epidemic in India and Canada worsens, Amazon has stated that it will suspend its Prime Day activities in India and Canada .

India has seen a sharp rise in the number of new cases reported in the past month , accounting for 46% of the world's new Covid cases in the past week . On May 7, India reported 414,188 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in a single day, setting a new record for the number of new cases in India in a single day, and also a new record for the number of new confirmed cases in a single country in a single day in the world.

The epidemic situation in Canada has not been optimistic. It is understood that Canada's new coronavirus infection rate exceeded that of the United States for the first time in April.

As can be seen from the figure, although Amazon has suspended its 2021 Prime Day plan in Canada , the platform is also determining the most appropriate follow-up actions for the 2021 Canadian Prime Day based on actual conditions .

Hot selling ASIN limited restock 20, sellers: it's time to give up the Canadian site

After the news of the suspension of Prime Day in Canada came out, sellers complained bitterly, "What should the kids who are preparing the goods do? Should they sell slowly?", "It's so frustrating, is there a good solution?", "Why are sellers in Canada going through a lot of trouble this year!"...

It is understood that this year, sellers on the Canadian site have repeatedly refreshed people's perception of misery. One seller said that there were times when Amazon's other sites had relaxed inventory and could ship goods in large quantities. However, since Amazon began to restrict inventory, Canadian sellers have never been able to replenish stocks at will, and the situation has become tighter and tighter.

From Amazon’s announcement, we can see that in order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus in Canada, not only have some Amazon operation centers been closed, but the capacity of Canada’s operation centers has also been reduced.

Amazon said it will temporarily reduce restocking and storage quantity limits to address capacity constraints at Amazon's fulfillment centers in Canada , but the platform is working tirelessly to relax restocking and storage limits once it finds a safe way to operate.

According to the epidemic situation in Canada, the date when Amazon will relax its replenishment and storage restrictions is still unknown. The tortured Canadian sellers have already complained:

A: The total inventory capacity is 999999999 pieces, but each individual piece has only 8, 16, or 26 pieces. Hey, hey, hey!

B: Amazon Canada can only send 20 pieces of inventory for one sku. How can people operate like this ?

C: Canada’s capacity has been cut in half again ... It was sold out right after it made it to the top 10, how can it still be sold ?

D: I think Canada should be renamed as Canada. Are 20 just sending away beggars ? How can sellers survive with 20? If sellers can't survive, who will support the Canadian site?

E: I thought the storage capacity would be gradually increased, and I had thought about sending the goods to overseas warehouses for turnover first. As a result, all the goods are now lying in overseas warehouses.

F: I originally thought that 75 was already inhumane. Now the single product delivery limit has been reduced to 20 again. Can it be lower?

A Canadian seller told Seller E from his own experience : It can be even lower! It is understood that this seller has just opened a new account, but he is only allowed to send 10 units for one sku!

Summarizing the current situation of Canadian sellers, we can find that it is common for a single SKU to drop to 20, and even many sellers only have 50 or as low as 20 units of their best-selling ASINs.

Sellers are being reaped again: Excess storage capacity fees are coming!

As Amazon sellers, although sellers on other sites cannot ship as few items as Canadian sellers, this does not mean that they are living a happy life.

It is understood that the inventory capacity of many Amazon sellers has been reduced by half or even more, which caught the sellers off guard: they shipped a lot of goods before the inventory capacity was reduced. Will Amazon accept the excess goods? If it accepts, will it charge excess storage fees?

Regarding these two questions, a seller said that after reducing the shipment quantity from 200 to 50, Amazon only accepted 50 shipments and did not accept the rest.

Many sellers also received notifications that they would be charged high storage fees after their storage capacity was reduced:

From this, you can see that because the seller's storage usage exceeds the allocated limit of one or more storage types, the seller will need to pay inventory storage overage fees for at least one day before May 5, 2021, unless the seller reduces the storage usage and keeps the usage within the allocated limit until the end of the month.

If sellers want to minimize possible overage fees while improving their Inventory Performance Index (IPI) scores, they must take immediate action to reduce all excess, unsold, or low-sell-through inventory.

In any case, another large number of sellers are about to be harvested.

According to research by Marketplace Pulse, three-quarters of the top 100,000 sellers on Amazon use Amazon Logistics; among them, 90% of sellers outside the United States use Amazon Logistics. It can be said that a large number of Chinese sellers are inseparable from Amazon FBA.

When FBA was first launched in 2006, it was both a warehousing service and a delivery service. Since the outbreak of the pandemic, online shopping has increased, and Amazon FBA's rules have changed again and again. Marketplace Pulse said that Amazon will never go back to the almost unlimited delivery service of FBA in the past. In the past, long-term storage (LTS) fees were charged every 12 months, and it became more and more expensive for sellers to store inventory for months over time.

Will Amazon continue to raise FBA fees in the future ? The answer should be yes.
