Newegg launches PC assembly service, DIY enthusiasts can customize on demand

Recently, Newegg , an American online electronics retailer, launched an assembly service for its own PC Builder platform, charging $99.99, providing assembly services for DIY desktop computer assembly enthusiasts.

Newegg launched Newegg PC Builder in June 2021, a one-stop computer shopping platform for designing and customizing PCs.

Building a PC is a complex process with nearly endless configuration possibilities. Considering components, brands, specifications, and compatibility issues, it takes a lot of time and effort for the average consumer. Newegg PC Builder provides a PC configuration tool that eliminates hardware compatibility considerations, so novices and experts alike can select and purchase the necessary parts to customize their own PC.

Newegg PC Builder lets customers configure a PC to suit their individual needs and budget through an intuitive workflow, with the ability to purchase all necessary components in a single transaction. Once customers receive the parts, they can view Newegg's video tutorials for more guidance on assembling a PC at home.

Newegg's assembly service can assemble the components selected by customers and deliver them to their homes in about a week, while traditional assembly services usually take several weeks to complete assembly customization.

Newegg said that although most DIY players like to assemble their own PCs, there are still some novices who do not have enough experience before assembling a PC and need professional assembly services. Even veteran players want a more convenient option. Newegg's service provides these customers with a simple, fast and affordable option, and the assembled PCs still support the platform's return policy.

"Our purpose-built PC assembly line is staffed by skilled technicians, has a large inventory of components and a team of skilled manufacturers," said Vishal Mane, Newegg's director of engineering. It is said that Newegg's service team is able to help customers assemble more than 1,000 hosts every day.

“Newegg got its start selling components to technology enthusiasts nearly 20 years ago, many of whom were building their own computers long before DIY became mainstream,” said Anthony Chow, Global CEO of Newegg. “Newegg PC Builder is where it all began, and we’re excited to support the next generation of DIY enthusiasts.”
