Zilingo platform B2B logistics transaction volume increased by 80% during Ramadan!

The ongoing pandemic has affected the logistics industry and global supply chains, including Indonesia , which has been subject to regional lockdown restrictions, leading to a surge in e-commerce activity as consumers found new ways to celebrate Eid at home , including buying clothes and holiday gifts for friends and family .


E-commerce platform Zilingo recorded an increase in demand for logistics services during Eid al-Fitr. Loudy Gilang, Zilingo’s head of operations , said that during Ramadan, Zilingo’s B2B logistics transactions increased by 80% compared to previous months, and total freight volume also increased by 50%.


Demand for logistics services has surged by 200% compared to before the pandemic , with an increase in demand in four major regions: West Java , East Java , Yadabak, and Central Java . The government has also allowed the transportation of goods to continue during the festive season so that consumers can still celebrate the festival despite restrictions on movement , he added .


Loudy added: “Logistics companies have not only set up additional budgets for medical protocol equipment, but have also conducted dedicated training to provide detailed guidance to employees at a time when many other businesses are actively cutting costs.”

Loudy Gilang also shared some tips and pointers for Indonesian entrepreneurs to help them maximize their business during the Hari Raya period :


1. Safety first


The health of employees , customers and suppliers is of utmost importance. Re -evaluate leave policies , employee compensation , flexible business plans and policies to ensure transparency in communication with employees and customers. Businesses must follow the guidelines issued by government , health and logistics industry authorities .


In addition, truck drivers , porters , sailors and transport drivers are at the forefront of the epidemic, so epidemic prevention measures must be strictly implemented .


2. Cooperate with logistics companies to provide the best consumer experience


The pandemic has accelerated the growth of businesses and digitalization , and this is also true for the logistics industry . Today, logistics operators guarantee transparency of inventory , orders, and deliveries throughout the supply chain , thereby maximizing customer satisfaction .
