Sun Rise Trading , based in Hong Kong, China, has recalled 1.06 million high-pressure washer guns for 10 models sold under its Greenworks and Powerworks brands, citing a risk of injury. The guns are also sold as aftermarket accessories for use with a variety of pressure washers.
These China-made pressure washers and aftermarket spray guns were sold from January 2017 to February 2021. In addition to being sold in Roche offline stores, they were also sold mainly on Amazon, Roche, and other online websites. Among them, the plastic gun accessory kit was sold for about US$40, and the pressure washer was sold for between US$100 and US$180.
The relevant data shows that during use, the spray gun connector may break, causing the hose and /or connector parts to fall off. If loose, any debris may be launched as a projectile, causing impact injuries to the user. So far, the company has received 15 reports of broken spray gun connectors and 13 reports of casualties, seven of which were serious enough to require medical attention. Most of the injured consumers suffered fractures, oral or eye injuries, and concussions.
According to Sun Rise Trading, the defective spray guns are sold as aftermarket accessories with model number 5202002. The model number is printed on the back of the pressure washer unit, near the top, while the brand name Greenworks or Powerworks appears on the side of the pressure washer gun, which is also included with the pressure washer. The model names and numbers involved in this recall are as follows: Greenworks GPW1500 , Greenworks GPW1501 , Greenworks GPW1600 , Greenworks GPW1602 , Greenworks GPW1702 , Greenworks GPW1704 , Greenworks GPW1800 , Greenworks GPW1803 , Powerworks PWA101 and Powerworks PWA104.
Consumers need to immediately stop using the recalled pressure washers and /or spray guns and contact Sun Rise Trading to replace the spray gun handle for free. In fact, safety issues have always been the focus reiterated by consumer associations in various countries, but various safety issues still emerge in an endless stream.
In the United States, garden sprayers that could cause fires have also been recently recalled . HD Hudson reportedly recalled approximately 64,000 illu-Mist battery-powered garden sprayers supplied by LOWE stores in mid-March. The sprayers were sold in Lowe's stores and online on Amazon.com between December 2019 and January 2021 .
Sellers who sell similar products need to pay attention. We must extinguish any small flames that can cause harm to the human body. Only by putting consumers first and paying attention to safety issues and quality at all times can we truly win the favor of consumers. Cleaning supplies recall made in China |
