Amazon package was abandoned on the roadside! Seller: The goods have been shipped for 6 months and have not been delivered yet...

Every day, a large number of parcels filled with sellers’ hard work and hopes depart from China and travel across the oceans to all parts of the world. While you are still imagining when these parcels can be turned into cash, you don’t realize that the parcels are passively “escaping” and disappearing as they travel…

Amazon package left on the roadside

According to foreign media reports, on February 17, the Princeton Police Department found more than 20 undelivered Amazon packages in the woods , which contained many household items, food, and toys.

Police said that of the 20 packages, 10 boxes were intact but the other 10 boxes were opened.

Coincidentally, there was news recently that a driver in Huntington, New York ( CBS) Long Island found undelivered Amazon packages on the roadside and he hoped to hand them over to their rightful owners.

"It was over 20 undelivered Amazon Prime packages. So, I tried to do the right thing and put it in my car and took it to the Second (Police) Precinct," he said .

Regarding this incident, an Amazon spokesperson said: "We have high standards for our delivery service partners and expect every package to be handled with care. We have notified the appropriate teams internally and will work directly with customers regarding matters related to their package delivery."

Seller: My goods have been delivered for almost half a year!

Speaking of FBA lost items, this is a terrible thing for many Amazon sellers. The quantity is obviously sufficient when they ship the goods, but when they arrive at the FBA warehouse, they are notified that the goods are lost. The most annoying thing is that the sellers have nowhere to complain.

Especially since the beginning of the epidemic , FBA warehouses have lost items frequently , and sellers are complaining . According to the editor, a seller once sent 1,000 pieces of goods to Amazon , but Amazon only received more than 300 pieces and said that the acceptance was over, and the rest of the goods disappeared...

There is also a seller who sent 23 items to Amazon’s warehouse in November last year but they have not been delivered yet . Miraculously, the status of the items has changed to completed. The seller has opened a case for more than a month but to no avail.

After the misery contest began, the sellers opened up and shared their tragic experiences one after another:

A: I lost a lot of goods, thousands of tickets, and no one ever compensated me. The case was ruined but they still didn’t pay me. XXXFBA.

B: Last October, I sent goods to Amazon warehouses by card delivery. Thousands of dollars’ worth of goods have not been put on the shelves yet. I am currently in the process of claiming compensation

C: I haven't received the goods I sent last September . I 've opened many cases but no one responded . I really want to know if my goods are still in good condition after half a year. How are you doing?

Another seller said that he had shipped a batch of 150 items, but 100 items were lost. He then applied for a claim. He lost money on Amazon before he even started selling. It was really cool!

Although this seller successfully obtained the claim from Amazon, many sellers said that Amazon would not compensate you so easily after the item was lost. Some sellers said that Amazon refused to compensate even if the case was opened badly after the item was lost , and did not conduct any investigation even after providing various proofs. They were simply cheating!

Therefore, one seller joked: " The money Amazon owes sellers, if converted into banknotes, can circle the earth twice. No, two circles is probably too little, it should be twenty circles. "

It is heartbreaking to see that many sellers are unable to obtain compensation when their shipments are lost. Of course, it is not only Chinese sellers who encounter the situation of lost shipments, but also foreign sellers who encounter similar situations.

The editor saw such a post on the forum. The poster was an Amazon FBA seller. He also encountered the problem of FBA lost items during his business. The following is the poster’s own account↓

I have a product that is packed in boxes. I usually pack it myself. One box can hold 72 products, and I always fill it up. However, the annoying thing is that out of the 8 batches I shipped to the Amazon FBA warehouse, only one batch received the correct quantity.

Every other box was missing items. Some boxes were missing 1-10 items. What surprised me most was that one box was missing 72 items. Did I deliver an empty box to Amazon warehouse? I want to know how much money I will lose because of Amazon's operation?

What is the correct approach to claiming compensation?

From the sellers' experience, it is not difficult to see that the road to claiming compensation after the loss of the goods is extremely difficult. " It is difficult to claim compensation recently. They also said that the ISA we provided is wrong. How can it be successfully delivered and signed for if it is wrong ? " " They asked me to provide an invoice, but after providing it, they said that the invoice quantity is wrong. What should you do at this time? "

Although Amazon sometimes does not compensate sellers for losses caused by lost items, sellers still have to apply for compensation if they find that the items are lost. As for how to apply for compensation, some sellers give tips: When you find that the goods have not been received and put on the shelf after the receiving time, it will show the time for application investigation. Generally, you should submit the proof of receipt of the goods first and let the customer service investigate to see if they can find it. If they confirm that it is lost, they will email you for the purchase invoice and then compensate you. If you find it troublesome, just submit the purchase invoice directly, and the proof of receipt step can be omitted. You can ask the supplier to issue a new purchase invoice.

After all, this is a matter of luck, but sellers still have to fight for it. How do you know that Amazon will not compensate you if you don’t try?

Amazon is using cameras in its delivery trucks

Amazon FBA has a frequent problem of lost items, and the company is obviously aware of this problem and is actively addressing it. It is understood that Amazon has begun to roll out AI-enabled cameras from Netradyne's vehicles to some of its contracted delivery partners in the United States. Amazon said that these cameras will help it improve the safety of its delivery network.

Amazon has deployed cameras in Amazon-branded vans that are part of its Delivery Service Partner program, which primarily handle last-mile deliveries. Over time, these cameras may be rolled out to other DSPs (DSPs are Amazon's contracted delivery providers that pick up packages from Amazon delivery stations and leave them at doorsteps).

"We are investing in safety across our operations and recently began rolling out industry-leading camera-based safety technology across our delivery fleet," Amazon spokeswoman Deborah Bass said in a statement.

The cameras are equipped with artificial intelligence software that can detect 16 different safety issues, including whether the driver stopped at a stop sign, distracted driving, speeding, hard braking, and whether the driver was wearing a seat belt. A DSP driver in Kentucky said the cameras can also detect when a driver yawns.

Amazon can also use these videotapes for other purposes besides enforcing security measures. This could include things like collisions with other vehicles or pedestrians and package theft. Hopefully, after Amazon implements this measure, the loss rate of sellers' FBA goods can be greatly reduced.
